Just OK. The good part: pretty restaurant in the heart of Wynwood with a very warm and hospitable staff. And most of the clientele was of South Asian descent- usually a good sign for an Indian restaurant. The so so part: the food was just ok-menu is limited (no bryani- my fave, for example.) The octopus masala was dry and tasteless, the Raita tasted more like mayo than yogurt. The tandoori meats were tasty. The service was lacking in attentiveness (we ordered 2 bottles of wine and poured most of it ourselves.) Beautiful Indian spot in midtown Wynwood. I can't get over the decor, it was so elaborate. I had the samosas and the tandoori kulcha as appetizers. The samosas were light and crispy with some delicious dipping sauces. The tandoori kulcha was way lighter and tastier than I expected. For the main course I ordered the Jheenga Masaledar which had such flavorful sauce I hardly tasted the shrimp and I really enjoyed that. From the moment you walk in ... it's an instant wow this is nice. The staff was nice and I thought it was really cute that they asked if you wanted a bindi. Like of course I wanted a bindi while eating Indian Cuisine. The service was nice, the food was delicious. My only thought was that I wish the dishes weee already serviced with rice but here everything is a la carte style. Honestly - best Indian food I have had in Miami. Everything delicious, made fresh daily. Fragrant with Indian spices. Full vegetarian menu, many chicken, lamb and seafood dishes. They have liquor and various signature drinks, beer and wine. (I recommend dry white wine with Indian dishes). We didn't have dessert so can't comment on that, but we've been there twice and both times I was blown away. Extremely traditional Indian food. Super flavorful and yummy, but be careful with the spice. We order a mild veggie dish and it was the spiciest one. I would definitely recommend any lamb dish since it was soooo tender and creamy. Plus you can't go wrong with butter chicken, so definitely order this one. The service was good, the waiter was able to help us decide our meals. Once the meal ends they have a traditional hand cleanse they do to remove any scents lingering on your fingers from the naan. The decor in this place is absolutely wonderful and feels like you are in a different place. I would hope for a dinner and a show but they don't have this available. I was initially apprehensive about coming here after reading the many mixed reviews. I'm so happy to say pretty much everything we had was great. We started with Goa Chilli Bengan the shrimp appetizer dish, this was everyone's least favorite dish. The shrimp was heavily breaded and the breading was really salty. For entrees we had tandoori scallops, Balti Gosht (lamb in stew), tandoori lamb kabob, and a curry fish dish. All were really good except for the fish to me. It was way to fishy for me and most of the table. The garlic naan was great. We were nervous because the reviews said portions were very small, I thought they were fine. They don't have liquor so all drinks are made with a wine based alcohol. The ambience is beautiful. The server started off great but then he seemed a little distracted towards the end even though the restaurant was emptier than when we arrived. I would definitely go back. read more

My standard in south Florida is Bombay Darbar and Rishtedar is right up there. I live in Mimo so this saves me the drive to coconut grove. Instead of being stuck in traffic, I'm home resting before my concert tonight. If you love great Indian food, definitely give this place a try, make sure to make reservations for busy nights. Looking at some of the low star reviews, people need calm down. I went on a Saturday night around 6pm and service went off without a hitch, food came out quickly, and at first I was eyeballing the portions but I quickly realized, it was perfect. I left plenty full but not hating myself, I'm a big boy and I can eat. GF had some leftovers which I'm sure I'll eat at 2am lol. Prices are comprable to every other Indian restaurant in SFL. Please keep in mind that Indian food is by nature spicy, so even mild will have a certain level of spiciness in it. The restaurant is decorated in brass lamps with golds and glass that make it look elegant. Food portions are on the large side, I had to take about half of my food home. Street parking is your only option here and this is a one way street where the restaurant is located so you may have to park a bit aways. The ambiance was perfect for a date night or night out with friends. The drinks to start were amazing. I enjoyed the Mojito. It was fresh and boozy. For the appetizer we had the samosas, which were crispy and very tasty. For the entree I had a coconut curry shrimp with garlic naan which you order separately. The coconut curry was a creamy dream and the shrimp were nice and plump. The naan just complimented the meal and I was able to grab all the sauce. You are able to control the spice by selecting the spice level. After the entree, our waitress came by and washed our hands with warm rose water. It was such a moment. An upscale place in the heart of Wynwood on 24th. The interior is very beautifully decorated, and they offer a tableside hand washing between courses, making for a classy experience. To start we had the pakora mix and samosa, both of which were very light, almost as if they had been air fried. For mains, we had the malai kofta, mattar paneer, and the achari bengan, all of which were excellent at a medium spice level. The assorted desserts are a must have, since they have a variety that are all worth trying. We were the only party in on a Sunday afternoon, so our service was pretty quick. Upon arrival the place is stunning and makes you excited to be there for the ambiance. Unfortunately, the decor is the only main highlight of this place. The menu and the servers fail to communicate essential info such as the fact that Basmati rice is NOT included with your choice of entrees. That'll be an additional $4 for a small bowl of rice even though you just paid over $20 for a bowl of protein. The food did taste good but it definitely all had a kick. I've had Indian food before but when I ask for a very low mild, I expect it to be mild. All of our meals were pretty spicy. The cost was definitely pricey. One order of Lamb Bhuna (again with no rice) was $23, a cheese Nan was $7 (for 2 pieces per person), and even a can of soda was $6 each. When we asked to split the check based on what we ordered she couldn't even do that. They batched together similar orders into groups and she couldn't separate them so we had to literally split the total in half or tell her how much each bill would pay. Oh yeah and they automatically add a 20% gratuity despite there only being 4 people for our table. Sorry the service wasn't that great to deserve 20%. They were not attentive to us. They didn't give us 4 menus only 2 and we had to share, took almost an hour to get our food served, never refilled our water glasses, and they cleared our table from food but took forever to give us our bill. Again, for the cost and lack of great service I wouldn't go back or recommend this to other people. Especially for the hassle of having to find parking in Wynwood? Sorry this isn't worth it. Two stars are provided for the decor and the potential the tikka masala could have had. The other stars are missing because the food quality, proportions, and service were an utter catastrophe. FYI Even though you order everything at once, all of the food here will arrive at various times, with at least 15 minutes between each plate, A.K.A. TAPAS STYLE. None of the 3 people at our table could ever eat at the same time, and several of the items never even showed up until we asked the waiter about them twice! The proportions are small except the tandoori chicken, which was disgusting and it did not have the flavors it typically should. NAAN: greasy and wet. SAMOSAS: one bite size and straight from Trader Joe's freezer section. SESAME SHRIMP APPETIZER: If three shrimps decided to roll themselves in glue and then roll themselves in a lot of sesame, then what you get is this: A hard shell that breaks away as soon as you bite in, leaving the shrimp naked and embarrassed). This menu item was a pretty idea on paper that should never actually made it to anyone's plate. TANDOORI CHICKEN: Three words of advice from a TC professional: JUST. STAY. AWAY. CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA: Tasteless, dry chunks with zero flavor or salt. The sauce (had potential) was requested spicy, but arrived 100% mild, and when we requested to please revise the sauce to be more spicy, it disappeared into the kitchen for 20 minutes before arriving back to us three shades darker and thickened sauce that had been reduced by 80%. It seems they simply added a pint of hot powders and threw it into the oven only to be forgotten there until we complained about the wait. The spice level at that point was OFF THE CHARTS. I managed to eat it all, despite the chefs obvious attempt at revenge (or achievement at stupidity). BEWARE: The proportions are also quite small here compared to most Indian restaurants. It's not the family-style approach you are accustomed to. Also, they will add 20% tip to your bill even if the waiter sucked and barely spoke English. I keep trying to find an Indian place in Miami other than my favorite one (a far drive), but these amateur wannabes keep disappointing the hell out of me (and my friends who are also on this quest). Either the food is bad or the business execution is backwards. But Rishtedar somehow manages to screw up both. SO WHY 2 STARS??: If this place were run by an experienced team instead of amateurs, it could be quite decent. read more

Their presentation is really good. We ordered tandoori chicken and the presentation was really good we got the chicken on skewers and placed in a small charcoal grill. Taste perspective the chicken is juicy and tender perfectly cooked. We also ordered hariyali kebab and they came in the same small charcoal grill. We ordered main course as naans and balti ghost, the lamb in the curry was very hard and did not absorb any of the flavors from the curry. Otherwise the curry was decent from taste perspective. Tried their butter chicken this evening along with the Lasun Naan (Garlic Naan). We chose Spice Level 3, which was a perfect Medium/Hot. The sauce was so delicious and creamy, we mopped it all up with the Naan. It tasted very authentic with lots of spices, and in my opinion is the best butter chicken in Miami.
