I had dinner here with friends. The restaurant is located a few blocks away from the historic…read moredowntown area and just off the Jardin de Tequisquiapan Park Plaza. There is limited street parking, but we found an inexpensive paid parking lot on the other side of the Plaza and enjoyed the beauty of the Plaza walking to the restaurant.
The restaurant is well decorated, classy yet semi rustic. They have multiple dining rooms and also outdoor patio dining.
The server got our drinks (most of us ordered limonada (excellent) and offered us either a soup of the day or the salad bar. I chose the salad bar.
The self serve, buffet-style salad bar was relatively small but had a reasonable selection of greens, tomato, asparagus, pasta salad, multiple potato salads, a few vegetables like beets and potatoes, corn, several garnishes, etc. I enjoyed the salad selections I made. The pão de queixo was small and inferior to what I've had in Brazil so I did not finish the one I took.
When you finish your soup or salad, they trade your plate for a cutting board... That's when you turn the sign on the table from res to green, and they start bringing the meats.
I enjoyed the meats served, especially the multiple flavors of chicken and pork loin and the filet mignon. They also had chistorra, linguiça, cow stomach (mata-hambre), chocolate chicken hearts and a few other exotic meats. I tried a chicken heart just out of curiosity (I'd never heard of that before) but didn't care for it. The picanha they brought was in very small pieces and only well done. The servers handed out only small slices at a time unless you asked. At the end they brought the cinnamon grilled pineapple which was very good.
I did enjoy three of the salsas they had on the table. My favorite was like chimichurri but made with jalapeños. The red salsa (chile morita) was excellent. There was another that had peanuts which was the only one I did not repeat.
The service was great, the restaurant was clean and pleasant. Overall, we enjoyed the meal, and I would return.
