Wow this place is great. We went early for lunch while working in the area. The place inside is small but comfortable. I ordered the smothered tacos with chorizo hash it was amazing. My coworker had the chilaquiles which was a massive amount of food he really enjoyed it. This isn't your typical Mexican restaurant or taqueria it seems that the chef has been to culinary school. DANG. I am happy. We were thinking about nachos at 3pm on this Tuesday afternoon so we decided to go to the cute Mexican restaurant we drive by all the time. The cashier was super friendly and our food was brought to us very quickly! So these nachos? Probably seven inches tall and on a plate maybe 10inches wide. Lots of food. We got them with carne asada which only came out to $14 I think. It was enough to feed 3 people!!!! The carne asada was extremely tender and seemed slow roasted to juicy savory perfection. I think the cheese was just a pre shredded Mexican blend but man there was a ton of the melty goodness alongside some warm filling pinto beans. On top we were served I think a 1/2 cup each of guacamole and sour cream-- Chipotle would never be so generous. The topping to chip ratio was perfect and we never had to worry if there was enough toppings for the amount of chips we had. We didn't know that this plate would be so large and I ordered a chilaquiles burrito that's waiting in my fridge that I can't wait to be hungry for in a lot of hours cause I'm so full from the best nachos I've ever had. The burrito was only $9 and is also massive. So looking forward to coming back and ordering more amaze items off of the menu! read more

Overall bland. If you like "zero stars" Thai or choose "no-spice" Chinese, this restaurant might be great for you. Tried the carne asada tacos and the pork posole soup. The carne asada is cooked on a grill and not over open flames so there was no caramelizing & charring of the meat...and thus no flavor. The same for the posole. It had three HUGE chunks of tender pork but the soup flavor was really weak. The large kerneled corn hominy and pork was actually overpowered by the shredded lettuce topping. The lettuce flavor was stronger than the soup flavor. Sad. The serving size was generous and the place was clean. The staff was friendly. A bit cold and drafty in the winter night though. read more

The irony is that you kind of have to order take-out because there is no where to sit inside. Thank you yelpers for this beautiful of a gem. I just finished hiking rattlesnake ledge and was needing some food before hiking Mt Si. I was looking for something great and cheap. This place delivered on both. The food was top notch. I got 3 smothered tacos and I just can't get enough appreciation for when they elevate the food. The tacos were fried perfectly. They had that crunchy but chewy texture. When they came out, you just knew they were a standard above the traditional taco. It was covered in a savory, red sauce that tasted home-made. I don't think it was from a can. it was so flavorful and paired with the filling of the taco so well. To top it all of, you gotta love it when they melt the cheese for you. There is nothing sexier than that cheese trail after you take a bite. It was so inexpensive at this place too. I kept finding restaurants that the average plate was over $15. Don't get me wrong, they are probably great, but if you want something that taste great and is cheap, come here. The staff was great as well. The man running the register treated me like family. Gave me a great recommend, what to check out, and was a happy man overall. A smile never faded from his face. The inside is a little cramped but there is plenty of outside seating. I grew up in Albuquerque so I'm always happy to find New Mexican food restaurants, wasn't expecting one in North Bend but all better. Ordered beef enchiladas Christmas (red and green chile sauce) smothered. Portion was very generous, good amount of food for money. Props on using whole pinto beans. I hate black beans, that's tex mex. New Mexico does pintos. Spanish rice was fine, not too much tomato. Red sauce was pretty good, little spice, not too hot. Green wasn't quite what we're used to in New Mexico. Either was based on green chile powder or tomatillo or both. It had nice flavor of its own. Constructive criticism: I see lot of local stores sell jars of El Pinto green chile sauce. Love to see them use that. Or stock.freezers full of green chile like I do in the fall.. The green chile is the quintessential ingredient for New Mexico. Go with that and I'd give 5 stars. Either way, it's a good place and I'll be back. read more

Nachos were super good! I loved the flan as well! Some places flan taste pasty and this place had a lot of flavor. I was sad they had Pepsi products lol but I lived with Dr.Peppa!! My family really enjoyed the atmosphere and the staff was sooooo friendly! Prices were decent for north bend! Honestly I'm surprised that it wasn't busier for as good as the food was! We live far but trip often out to NB so this place will be visited again for us, can't wait to have this Nachos again!! I've been here quite a few times since they opened. I think I've tried just about everything on the menu at some point. I've never been disappointed. I'm not by any means an expert on southwest cuisine. I did spend quite a bit of time in NM several years ago, and I loved the food. Some of the dishes here are the closest I've experienced outside of that. In particular, the Huevos Rancheros and Taquitos made me think I was back in NM again. My favorites: First and foremost, Tamale Tuesday. Handmade tamales one day a week. Only one to chose from each week, but they vary from week to week. How you can go wrong with handmade tamales? Answer: You can't. Huevos Rancheros. The best around. Don't get me wrong, lots of other places make good HRs as well, but I like these best. Made with real chorizo. Very authentic, and delicious. Taquitos. Also made with chorizo. Delish. Tacos. Made in the style of a real 'street taco'. Corn tortillas, your choice of fresh ingredients. Nachos. Piled high with fresh, delicious ingredients of your choice. If you love a good burrito, you'll like theirs as well. For me, burritos in general are a bit too heavy on beans and rice for my preference, so they're not the first 'go to' item for me. These were big and delicious, again with your choice of ingredients. In the mood for something sweet? Try the sopapillas. My picky kids loved 'em. (so did I). They've also got a good selection of Mexican sodas and beers. I'm from New Mexico, and to see a Mexican Restaurant with Zia symbols painted on the front immediately caught my attention. Glad I went in and found a variety of very tasty dishes. The red sauce is tasty and authentic. As with seemingly all Mexican restaurants up here, sauces are very mild, so ask for the "fuego" sauce to get some kick. Greasy middle schoolers fill the store and prevent you from reaching your sweet, creamy destination. You turn your head solemnly across the street and gaze at the entrance of Rio Bravo. You don't know what to make of it, you've never eaten anything but a Dairy Dip Burger for lunch (your colon health is honestly horrendous). You know that you can't keep listening to these middle schoolers ramble about puberty, Bey Blades, and the people they've killed recently. You confidently stride out of the Dairy Dip and across the street, your head held high, your mood uncertain - but refreshingly hopeful. At Rio Bravo, you're greeted with a smorgasbord of tantalizing cheeses and Mexican meats. You bite in to enchiladas that are bursting with juicy chicken. Sauces dribble down your chin, and you giggle like something has come alive within you than has lay dormant for a long time. You wash it all down with a silky-smooth glass of horchata. You have some playful banter with the service staff about mountain activities, hemp fest, and the aforementioned Mexican meats. This is one of the best Mexican meals I have had since moving to Washington. I got the green chicken enchiladas with eggs over easy on top. The chicken was extremely juicy, and the verde sauce was perfect. And the rice and beans were amazing. We also had some nachos that were more like a meal and a half on their own, but had so many great layers. The only two things I would like to see is a better flavored margarita and for it to be a little cleaner (the water cooler was sitting on a dirty rag), but the food was so amazing and the staff was so friendly that I will be back again and again. read more

The customer service was great, very friendly and funny! The place is cute and quaint with a small dining area and outdoor seating. We shared the nachos and tacos! First of all they make the chips fresh when you order, then your nachos are piled high with delicious toppings! For tacos we tried the chicken and carne asada.. both flavors were dynamite especially with some of the hot sauces they have! As a transplant to Albuquerque and graduate from the University of New Mexico, the Zia symbol drew my initial curiosity. A new place that serves New Mexican food? Rock-o's had been transformed into an authentic New Mexican restaurant that reminds me of the many New Mexican food places dotted along Hwy 285 from Albuquerque to the ski area in Taos, which I had traveled many times. My son and I tried it and we've been regularly coming back to gradually sample everything on the menu. So far we've tried the huge toasted burritos, chicken with "stop light" (red and green) chile, the enchilada plate, the huevos rancheros, and another burrito with pork al pastor ... absolutely fantastic. The chile heat is toned down from the traditionally very spicy hot that New Mexican is known for while retaining every bit of the flavor. It's maybe two on a hottness scale of five. The portion sizes are quite filling. For beverages they have bottled drinks, sodas and ice cold water. And, the service is quick and friendly. My only regret -- the sopaipillas (fry bread) could be fluffier and served with honey. read more

This is not just a restaurant. It is a religious experience wrapped in a delicious culinary establishment. My kids had the tacos and a quesadilla; my wife had a chicken burrito that was devine; the chilaquiles burrito that I had was enough to write hymns about, to convert non believers, and to echo a thousand years into the future. Let me wax poetic about the chilaquiles burrito further - it is amazing. It is soft. It is crunchy. It is tangy. It is meaty. It has some sweet, and yet it has some heat. It is everything you have been looking for in a burrito, even if you weren't looking. You know that U2 song "Still haven't found what I'm looking for"? Well, if they had taken one bite of this burrito, that song wouldn't have been written because they would have found it.
