Kyle was responsive, patient, and incredibly helpful when it came to choosing the right floors, plus he secured us a discount on the materials. Haider and his team were professional, thorough, and finished the work on time. They were careful, respectful, and clearly took pride in their work. What really stood out was the extra care they took to repair cracks and level the cement foundation before installation. It made a huge difference in how straight and solid the new floors feel. Highly recommend.

I contacted Almimar Renovations and Kyle responded promptly. The same day in the afternoon Hayder from Almimar came to my apartment in New Westminster to make an appraisal of the work. He was very kind and informative of all aspects to be covered. The estimate surprised me in the best way as it considerably less than other proposals I received, with better quality laminate. Almimar did an outstanding job at my place and it now looks brand new! Kyle keep me informed all steps of the way and Hayder was very dedicated to his work, going always the extra mile to please me. They finished the work with many extras on time and budget, the result speaks for itself, I will recommend Almimar to anybody that needs great and professional work in their homes.

Having done a lot of our own research as to the different types of flooring available to us, our next step was whether retailers would have what we liked. We found many did not have the selection to give us more choice. We needed to find a good retailer who has good customer service and has staff who do excellent installation because we were not going to do it ourselves. At one big box retailer we were not too impressed by their impersonal sales staff, because they provided us with limited information on what would be involved to have the existing carpet removed and have the underlay and the new floor installed. A good friend had used Metrotown Floors and Interiors before and had referred us to contact them with our flooring project. So we made some time to contact them and to go visit their showroom. The showroom had a very good selection of all types of good to high quality flooring. The customer service representative Al Eris welcomed us as we came through the door. He asked us what was our plan and what needed to be done. Then, he made a home visit to measure the work space and bring up any concerns that needed to be addressed. For example, what baseboards could be used that would go best with the current door frames, trimming of the doors, and to consider that we may need to level the underground floor before installing the underlay and the new flooring. We were impressed by Al's professionalism and his attention to detail. So impressed that we chose to go with Metrotown Floors. Once we chose the underlay and flooring we wanted Al was quick to give us samples of the product, and he advised us of the cost estimate within a reasonable amount of time. He put the time and effort into understanding our needs and he was there for us before, during, and even after our job was completed. Reaching out to us to see if we had any concerns with the installation and if we are satisfied with his customer service and the hard working staff who did the installation. As such, it goes without saying that we would not hesitate to recommend Metrotown Floors and Interiors to all our family and friends. Sincerely, Kenneth and Nancy

Afterwards we had some of the plant based strawberry ice cream and frozen yogurt for dessert. I did a search on Google and discovered that the gravy for IKEA's poutine is vegetarian so I might try ordering the poutine myself next time. Although...truth be told, it wasn't the most appetizing looking gravy so...maybe not. Cilantro...my mortal enemy. There was cilantro in the couscous that came with my falafel balls. the falafel balls were just OK. Nothing to write home about. The couscous probably would have been decent if there hadn't been any cilantro in it. Uggghhh...why would anyone put cilantro in couscous? Why would anyone put cilantro in anything for that matter? (That second question is coming from the cilantro hater in me) The frozen yogurt and plant based ice cream were the highlights in my opinion. Daughter was satisfied with her poutine though and I heard no complaints about the garlic bread so...OK rating but if I were judging on my own personal meal (which I really really didn't like because of the cilantro), this would be a lower rating.

I went to Ikea specifically looking for their Zamioculcas…read more(live) plant. I checked that it was in stock before heading over, but was unable to find the plant in store. It was very difficult to find an Ikea employee there and when I finally managed to find someone, she pointed me towards a section that only offered fake plants. I spent several more minutes walking around and finally found the shelf in a different location. However, the shelf was empty, although online said they had 10 still left in store. I left the plant section to speak with someone at their help desk. I wouldn't say that they were very helpful as she just asked me questions that I found directly on their website and when she said if it says there at 10 items left there should be some stock left, unless it was either an inventory issue or customers grabbed the items already, but have not checked out yet. She recommended that I go back to the plant section to look for an employee for help. I did, but was unable to find anyone. I left feeling disappointed with the lack of customer service they offered as well as not be able to take home the one item I was looking for. Usually this location is great, so it's frustrating how much time I wasted this visit.
