Dora Canal.is bordered by natural woodlands owned by the county that has been preserved for generations in virtually its original appearance. It's also a gator preserve.so no swimming or dangling toes in it. It makes for perfect retirement living but can become buggy, hot and humid. Just seeing all the alligators, turtles, great blue heron and the many other birds and species is a real nature lovers delight.

Busy & popular with snowbird crowd. Prices are on par with other communities in area that offer similar amenities and activities. Campsites come with w/s/e (30/50 amp) and picnic table. Cable TV is offered for $. Bring your own raised fire pit and wood if you like campfires. Site are spacious (40 x 65) some areas are full sun, others are shaded. You're parking on grass / packed sand. Some campsites have concrete patios (remnants of older park trailer that has since been removed. Warning about concrete: it's not reinforced so don't park your rig on it. Also, concrete is at various heights on sites and some may find issues with their Rv stairs. Two heated swimming pools (indoor 18+ open 24/7, outdoor is daylight hrs) cafe for breakfast and/or lunch weekdays. People here are friendly and most will stop and talk with newcomers and offer help when needed. Complex has lots of function rooms and during winter season have a gazillion activities for adults to participate in. The community is a 55+ property, under 18 year olds are allowing a two week stay a year. About 2/3 of sites are permanent onsite with the other 1/3 open for Rv campers. And about 1/3 of sites are year round residents. We came for 1 month winter camping several years ago. Kept extending our stay and ended up buying a park model a few years later. We own unit but pay monthly lot rent and electricity. Property is on a canal which leads to Lake Harris.

The shower/restrooms are large and private and best of all... clean! The resort was also very conveniently close to restaurants, parks, shops and tourist spots. Can't wait to come back when the park is complete (they are still expanding but the noise was minimal and it was actually fun to see how much they were getting done each day). The staff were amazing. Jim checked us in and got us parked, and daily we saw friendly folks cleaning, on golf carts and in the office. They have a huge clubhouse that will be great for large gatherings with several seating areas and a bar.

The folks residing here are friendly & tend to watch out for one another, which is reassuring. Located on Lake Rousseau, where the fishing is plentiful. They have a small bathhouse (1 shower) & a nice laundry (3 washers @ $1.75/3 dryers at $1 per load). There's no cable & OTA is unreliable, but the wifi is excellent. TV channels are not consistent, but I really haven't missed watching it very much. Although I do watch a few channels occasionally, it's given me a great opportunity to catch up on some reading. Speaking of reading, there is a book exchange area in the laundry. These folks also own Big Bass Village RV down the road, so you can't always catch someone in the office, but the manager (Suzie) got back with me very quickly when I emailed her from the address on the website. I think the owners are really working hard to make this a beautiful place. It has great potential, it's VERY reasonably priced (lower than anyone else in the area), & are quick to answer questions or suggest sights/views/restaurants. I'm really glad that this was the RV park we chose for our stay in this pretty part of Florida.

Friendly yet private and what a view. Close to everything with restaurants,grocery, walking paths and of course wildlife in the lagoon and rockets launching into space on a regular basis! Orlando is close by as are the airports. Hot shower in clean facilities with laundry that's affordable. Short or long stay I would recommend. Our Memorial Day…read moreweekend could have easily been ruined, but thanks to an incredible staff, it turned into a memory we'll never forget. (The MAYOR Rob along with Tammy, Sam, and Cori helped us tremendously.) After arriving, the kids played in the pool, we ate dinner, and were getting everyone settled for bed when we discovered the camper we rented through RVshare was completely full of ants. We immediately panicked because it was late, we had kids with us, and we really didn't want to pack up and drive back home after already starting our weekend. That's when MAYOR Rob came to the rescue. He radioed in, and Tammy and Sam quickly showed up with a key to a cabin they had available. They helped us move our things, get everyone situated, and completely saved our Memorial Day weekend. It's rare to find people who genuinely care the way this team did. Their kindness, quick action, and willingness to help meant more to our family than they probably realize. We are beyond thankful and truly appreciative for everything they did for us. Thank you again to Rob, Tammy, Sam, and Cori for going above and beyond. This level of customer service is something special, and it's the reason we'll absolutely be back!
