My friend, a girl in her early 20s wanted something to eat around 1am and she didn't feel the normal options of Taco Bell and Perkins. She decided Rick's was the best option for late night food. I reluctantly agreed and drove us downtown from SLP. Neither of us had been there before but we assumed they had late night food given the nature of the establishment. We arrived around 2am. I used a coupon on the Yelp app which gave free cover if you checked in at Rick's (hence why I felt the need to write this review). The front desk girl nor the manager were aware of the deal but they did honor it. A friendly host sat us close to the stage. Being my first time in an adult establishment, I carefully observed how the whole place worked. My friend ended up ordering chicken tenders which seemed like a a safe bet. We ordered a few drinks and I saw things that I won't soon forget. Most of which, I don't want to. The girls were pretty in my opinion and I got a decent show without paying anything. No one asked if we wanted a dance but I'm actually happy we weren't pressured into anything like I've of heard of happening at other similar places. It took a while for the tenders to come out but there are worse places in the world to be stuck for a while. According to my friend, the tenders were decent (the sole reason for the trip and that's what I'm telling my mom). I can't leave a much of the review for the quality of the girls and their dances. This will likely require some additional independent research. read more

Terrible.. I'm a restaurant bar owner myself. They literally stole my money when asking for change. The bartender and bouncer were useless in controlling their environment. When asked about my money being exchanged they kicked me out the venue protecting the tainted employee. Never ever come to this environment when searching for entertainment. I Will file a court hearing from any associate with this club. Enjoy the paperwork. read more

The server asked what drinks me and the girl will have, she asked for a Red Bull and I said a coke. I gave the server my card. She told me it was $35. But I get an alert from my bank asking if I tried to make a $100 purchase. Do not trust this place with your card... or at all. read more

I love this establishment, Karma is always so fun, I would love to come see her again!!!

Went to celebrate my birthday with a couple of the fellas . The door greeter was very respectful and considerate. Other than that, the dancers were greedy as hell. Literally had to sit on my money because one of the dancers was reaching as if I didn't see while I was getting the dance, attempting to just take the money. Then four dancers came over and sat in. Our section didn't crack a smile. I asked them to leave my session. They wouldn't kept asking for shots. Then there was about 10 strippers in one section and I see about $50 being thrown. The awareness in this club is Little to none take care of people spending good money first.! literally spent about 3000 on the ladies trying to support the city, felt like straight extortion. Tactics ain't never getting none of my money again. read more

Elise the best hostess helped us out the whole night very friendly and kind !!!!!!!!!!

Best looking girls in Minneapolis! Bottle service to food definitely a whole vibe! Love the energy

The bartender was visibly drunk. The staff was rude. One of the dancers kept trying to harass me into paying for a private dance 3 different times and when I kept saying no she told me to kill myself. One dancer offered to give me some head in my car for money. I said no and that I have a girlfriend. She said "I didn't ask you if you had a girlfriend I asked you if you Dante's some head." I was also charged for drinks I never had. I don't drink booze but was charged for some. When I pointed out that I was overcharged I got kicked out. read more

I like this place because its away from all the craziness on Hennepin Ave/bar scene. The atmosphere is cool, dark, good music. Staff is nice and not pushy. The ladies are nice. The one stand out for me was Amber, one of the waitresses. She's the sweetest, kindest and down to earth person there. Always a smile and very quick. Amber is a rockstar. read more

I wonder highly recommend for everyone to stay away from this place. A friend and I went to Rick's not too long ago and we grabbed our seats. We were there for about 2 minutes and was harassed by a waitress because we didn't want to order drinks. We paid hard earned money to see a great show, but we ended up leaving 5 minutes after being there because they were trying to force us to doing something neither one of us wanted to do. So we tried to explain to the waitress that we didn't drink alcohol, so I felt like we were racially discriminated against. read more

Would I go back? Probably not. My boyfriend got us and some friends a VIP package for my birthday and I was so excited for this! Unfortunately, I was rather disappointed. First, let's talk about the parking. We had called and confirmed that there was valet parking. It's cold, no one wants to park in a ramp and walk. We were told there was valet throughout the night. Fast forward, we get there and the bouncer said that they don't have valet available because the managers took all of the parking. He explicitly said, "Rick's pays for it, so they usually park there." That's crappy. But of course, the manager didn't care. He showed us to our VIP area and we sat down. Then here come the servers. Their attitudes were awful. I can't even count how many eyerolls we got from them on my fingers and my toes. This is the place you come to if you want to spend $185 on a $20 bottle of champagne that will just be consumed by the dancers. Another note, don't buy the dancers any drinks. They will rack up your tab without warning. We agreed to buy a shot for one dancer and she continued ordering drinks from the server and they were going on our tab. The server didn't even confirm with us. Before we knew it, there went $125. Not to mention, their drinks are crazy expensive. We closed our tab after $500 and the dancers disappeared. LOL. The main stage doesn't have a pole. It's awkward. It's a mess. A couple of the dancers were nice to chat with and engaged with our group. A few other dancers were rude. Honestly not a fan of this place. I hate to say it, but there are better clubs that have better experiences and reasonably priced drinks. Oh, and the manager on duty should find a job in another industry. After we explained our not to great experience, he said, "That's too bad. Goodnight!" and pushed us out the door. Trash. Go elsewhere. read more

Very classy place. Lovely women, Dancers, servers, and bartenders. Great VIP section. I'm not a smoker but there is a smoking patio out back. The food is great as well. I used to order food for my breaks when I worked nearby. Great atmosphere. read more

Came here a few times. Cute, pleasant staff. Average prices for downtown. Dancers are pretty, and nice. Nice that they're open past 2 on the weekend. read more

The waitress add their tips to drinks . Sometimes a Fuji is 8 and sometimes it's 10 . I wouldn't recommend leaving a open tab either . Random charges days later. They gave me my card back but never a receipt of what I spent so I'm assuming they decided to write in their own tip . On top of everyone begging for tips any chance they get . I wouldn't recommend . read more

From the minute you walk in until the minute you walk out, you are treated like the king of the city. The service is second to none. The bartending is impeccable. And the dancers are superb. If you find yourself in downtown Minneapolis and fancy a sweetheart who steals a smooch from you on a warm summers day, this is the place for you. Damn... as the nights draw long, I fear this message may never find you. But if it does Godspeed my friend. read more

What?!..there is no negative stars. Take your business and money somewhere else. Do NOT go here! Why? Let me count the ways: 1) Cover charge: $12 (the most expensive in MN) 2) Drinks: uber expensive! (i.e. I mean the German word "uber" not the ride-sharing company) 3) Horrible customer service. Rick's staff is so rude and disrespectful to the customers, especially the front entrance Doorman(more on this later) 4) Customer experience is terrible and awkward at best. Rick's only has a few dancers. I am not superficial but damn butt ugly. The small stage has no pole so the dancers just wiggle back and forth until the song is over...awkward. The food is gross, especially their "buffallo wings" which is the worst I ever had at ANY places. The Cook must of pour the whole salt box in there!....you've been warn, don't order the Buffalo Wings or any of their food for that matter. Oh, as promised let's get back to the front entrance African Doorman. This guy blocks the PUBLIC sidewalk of the intersection and harasses, insult people when they walk by. There was earlier review on here about the doorman spitting on people as they walk by which btw I am not surprised at all. When you ask him to see management/owner , he will say that he is the Owner which is B.S. and I find it outrageously funny; I guess his name must be "Rick" as in RICK JAMES!!!!! LMAO. I tell ya..it really made my night that time. So yeah, if you are to go to this type of establishments then take your business and money somewhere, anywhere else besides Rick's Cabaret. read more

Bar and door staff are friendly and great. Always a good good time when you go to Ricks!!!!! 1000% recommend for a good time.

Got a couple free passes so me, my friend, and his brother went to check this place out. All the girls were attractive, but the prices for pretty much any liquor item besides beer were asininely expensive. We ended up getting a couple free Honduran cigars from the check-in lady, which we smoked on the back patio with a couple other guys and about 10 of the strippers. Eventually, being the loaded group we were, my buddy go a dance in the back room for a couple hundred and his brother and I sat in the main area, not really getting accosted by strippers, which was a welcome surprise. When our friend came back, some random Egyptian? guy needed to finish his Grey Goose bottle service by midnight and bought us a couple rounds of Silver Patron also. He got us a few lap dances, and said by the end of the night he blew $2,200. Insane. Overall it is a clean and legit establishment, yet I don't know why they constantly give out free passes. Charge a cover and make the drinks less and I'm sure more people would come and stay. read more

Been here twice, it wasn't a good experience either time. We came for a bachelor party. Key points: We ended up paying outrageous amounts for bottle service and had waitresses clearing half-full glasses and ended up clearing our table while we were in the bathroom. When you pay hundreds for a bottle of Jameson, it's frustrating to have them dump it. The staff is horribly rude and disrespectful. We had a friend not receive his credit card and ID back after a private dance. He realized it after close so the next day, we tried to call. We left a message on their web site and never got a call back. They answered and hung up with no correspondence. We ended up going there to work out the situation and the doorman just asked us to leave. The girls dancing were pleasant and polite, but all of the other staff and the overall experience was a tremendous letdown. read more

I love this bar and the parking is so convenient. I don't think they allow bike though, which is nice.

food is fresh & very filling portions. the ambiance of this cabaret is incredible. it gives a very comfortable vibe & the energy everyone brings whether they're employees or entertainers, is always positive & enjoyable. its such a beautiful club i'm still at loss for words you just have to stop in sometime ! i love the look & feel of it all... i was a travel entertainer here and i cannot wait to go back ! i'd drop in as a customer too no doubt ! the vip rooms are perfect & very roomy. super personal experience i'd say ! whether you go in during the day or at night when its a packed house, you still can find your own space to relax &/or turn up and party ! ultimately this cabaret can be the perfect experience for anyone who stops in. the ladies are just lovely & a great time. read more

Best club in Minneapolis Trent is like the 5th best bartender in the city staff is awesome

Went there after the show at Armory. Was surprise we got in free with our tickets stub. Everybody was super friendly and the girls were beautiful. Definitely recommend it if you're ever on that side of town read more

4 stars because the drinks are way over priced. The stadiums don't charge nearly as much for the same drinks. But everyone is super nice, the girls, the bar tenders, and the bouncers. The girls are very pretty too of course read more

If you are black, you will not be treated equally here. Rick's Cabaret has a standing policy of using artificial dress code tactics in order to deny entry to black men. Once you enter, the mood from the staff is cold, and it seems as if everyone was told, "Don't be nice to them whatever you do!" Even the girls are lukewarm. It's certainly not a desirable place to be, and this is the location in Minneapolis - I cannot attest to the quality of the other locations. read more

It's pretty nice inside, not trashy and gross like most gentlemen's clubs. However, they only have one stage most of the time -- apart from a very small one that would only get used on weekends if necessary. The girls tend to be more on the tacky side when it comes to giving you attention, they also tend to stick with one guy for a very long time or wander aimlessly through the club hanging out with their friends instead of working. In my point of view, I shouldn't have to get the entertainers attention - they should get mine. It's like going to McDonalds and having the cashier just stand there instead of helping you. The girls just seem really fake and repetitive. But hey, it's a lot nicer of a club than most around the Twin Cities area... read more

The $6 lunch combo is best value in the downtown area. Attentive and eager front staff and entertainers, with standard prices for the services customary to this kind of venue. Entertainment is topless with a g-string and some touching is allowed. Next drinks are poured strong and food portions are generous. read more

If you are a dancer or aspiring dancer in the Minneapolis area, do not, I repeat DO NOT WORK AT RICKS! The managers are liars and cheaters that will take money not only from customers, but the entertainers as well. No dancer is valued there. The managers and waitresses both will be sweet to you and your customer but little do you know they take your money and pocket it as tips by the end of the night. Then tell you that "you got your cut" as if you were all entertaining the customer. If you can't be just as sneaky and manipulative as the best of them then I'll warn you, don't waste your precious time. It is not worth the frustration, irritation or arguement. Find a dance club where the DANCERS are the main attraction and paid what they're worth. read more

Just signed in to write a review on Ricks, which was overall pretty fun. Nice waitress, staff was fine, pretty girls, overall it was fine, the one star relates to the fact that my friends and I appear to have been roofied by what we think was a dancer. We went to the place around 11 o'clock at night, got a table and bottle service, group of 4 guys. Nobody has a memory after about 12 o'clock and while we have all been to bars and clubs plenty of times, none of us have ever gotten that drunk that quickly or actually blacked out (no memories). The last thing we remember was talking about how we really had started drinking late and weren't very intoxicated. The next thing we remember is waking up on the hotel room floor. Nice place, but if you're spending alot of money, watch your drinks and don't all go to the bathroom or to get a dance at once, always make sure somebody is there to watch your stuff. Or just leave one sober person to be in charge of watching it at all times. We don't think it was the club staff, as they were courteous and even did us some favors, we suspect it was a dancer. I'm sure it wasn't the staff at the club, but rather just a renegade dancer, but folks be careful, its a crazy world out there. read more

If you go downtown with a pack of alcohol fueled dogs and your seeking a case of blue balls stop into Ricks, the girls here will do the trick plus after buying a few drinks you will feel like you've been fucked. Nothing beats watching girls with serious emotional and mental problems dance to today's top 40 hits. God bless American. read more

First off, the service was horrible and the staff was not friendly at all. I asked for 40 1s, they told me I had to give them the cash before they showed me the 40, 1 dollar bills. That was bullshit. They acted like I was going to rip them off, even though they had bouncers/cameras.......how the fuck would I rip them off (I am a customer)......then, I spent cash in the club, but I kept getting harassed by low class strippers. (If I want a dance, I'll ask)......once 2am rolled around, my buddy and I were waiting for a ride, right out front of the club. We were asked to leave, and I told the bouncer we will leave when our cab gets here. He was not having that at all, he demanded us to leave at that moment, we did nothing. Then, I was threatened repeatedly that my life would be taken if I didnt leave the area. All of the people that work there are shady as fuck, other than the talent providing their services, it seemed like walking into a strange place knowing you have to DEAL with a bunch of fake ass people, acting like they have a authority........ read more

Great staff, positive attitudes, close dances, great food & drinks

So our last stop on our strip club tour was at 3 others before here had to pay a cover here and no where else which is absolutely ridiculous secondly took a server 10 minutes to ask us if we wanted a drink which we did price was good, thirdly my girlfriend and I sat at a table for 40 minutes and not one single stripper stopped by our table to ask if we wanted a dance or private show which we did so we went to the bar sat there and the bartender was actually a lot of fun asked her if she'd dance for my gf she said sure for $1,500 I was like what the hell she's joking so a little bit later my girl asked if she'd dance for her and again her reply was sure for $1,500...needless to say we left and will never EVER go back!! read more

I'm giving Rick's a one star rating because of one reason. THE MANAGER. A group of friends and I have gone there a few times and each experience has gotten progressively worse. Don't get me wrong, the girls are great, but the daytime manager makes you feel so uncomfortable, you can't even enjoy yourself. Every time I turned around she was watching us all like a hawk, and not to mention she kept pushing us to get bottles! I have never felt so uneasy and truthfully threatened by someone at a supposed (professional) establishment, because she was anything but. She even went as far as telling me it was mandatory to tip the manager after I had bought a room. All I can say is if you plan on going here...Go at night. read more
