Coffman Family YMCA - Group Fitness Studio at the Coffman Y

We've been members of the YMCA since the beginning of the year and are very happy with it. With…read morethat being said, this is not my home branch so I am only reviewing based on what I have experience with. This is the nicest of the all the branches I frequent and the newest. They have a huge parking lot and the building itself is huge. This is probably the biggest Y I've been too as well. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful on where to direct me as someone new. The childcare area is very, very big and if you do between 8am-11am busy since this is when all the classes are typically offered. Even though they were busy I didn't feel like it was too much for the people working. They also have a blocked off area for small babies, which I liked since my son was only about 8-10 weeks when we went. The weight room is really large and has plenty of equipment. It's busy every time I've been there, but not over crowded. There are plenty of rooms so they offer the most diverse classes compared to the other Y's in the area. I found the gymnastic to be a bit small and the track was fine, but I think West Carrollton's is designed better because of the natural light from the windows. Like I said, the nicest and biggest Y I've been too, but I find it too crowded for me.

Staff is not very friendly. Most of what they say is "check the app"…read more A week ago when I signed up for the Y, in my packet came a weekly class list. I showed up for a class today at 1 o'clock and no one was there. When I went to the desk, they were kind of dismissive. "If nobody's there it was probably canceled. Did you check the app?" They should know their audience. A lot of people are older and don't want to work apps. And with that being said, why would you hand me a weekly class list that is not correct? I also asked the front desk three times in the week I've belonged, where a class was located. None of them said "oh it's right here or it's right there." Every one of them had to pull up the app or go to the monitor and pull up a class. Shouldn't the front desk know more about what's going on and what classes are being held and where they are in the gym? I don't know. It's kind of souring me.

If I could have kept my daughter with Jeralee for more than a year, I would have! She is an…read moreamazing person and the love she has for the children she cares for is evident. My daughter always loved going to school and giving Mrs. Jeralee hugs first thing in the morning. She learned so much in the time she was with Jeralee and I am forever grateful that she was a part of my daughter's life. She not only prepared her for the next school year, but she strengthened her faith in God. If I could give her 10 stars, I would. Thank you, Jeralee!

From the owner: Playschoolers was created with God, children and family in mind. I want my families and their…read morechildren to feel like this is their home away from home when they come here. Playschoolers is a licensed, state regulated Christian home childcare center. I believe it is very important to create a spiritual foundation for children at a young age. I give the children biblical values that will stay with them in the next stage of their lives. Children grow their faith in Christ with Bible stories, bible verses, worship songs, and activities. Here at Playschoolers I use Abeka, it’s a comprehensive, quality curriculum and materials program that is from Christian Distributors. While using this curriculum, I will also integrate play throughout our day. I believe play is just as important because children learn different skills that implement cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development. Having this cross-subject integration helps the children at age appropriate levels along their educational journey here at Playschoolers!
