Stay away, far far away... First the Decatur smell. Made by…read morethe Ethanol / Corn Syrup plants east of the city, the burnt toast smell is horrible. It gets into your clothes, your house, your nose. Even after you leave the city, you will find the smell has permeated into everything, and cannot be removed Second, the Brain drain. Anyone with half a brain heads East to University Of Illinois in Champaign / Urbana, and those who know someone head West to get a comfy State job in Springfield... Science is beyond weak, the University's focus is on "Liberal Arts", dance, music, and theater. Beware of hidden charges on your tuition bill, I caught a "Athletic Facilities" charge, and when I refused to pay it, they banned me from the gym. Soon everyone was refusing the charge... Trouble ensued when I was watching a basketball game, and got caught by Dean of Students, who dismissed me from the College without a Student Court appearance. I had a paid admission ticket to the game. Word got out, and I was invited to speak at Student Court. Showed my game ticket, and asked for my tuition for the semester back rather than readmission. The check arrived a year later....
