Unlike most U.S. universities that send their study-abroad students to French universities via a partnership, Rice University in Houston has a satellite campus in the heart of Paris, with Rice professors as teachers. Fall '25 was the first semester of this new program, and my nephew had the opportunity to spend his fall semester of senior year as a member of the first class. All classes are given full Rice credit, and room and board are the same as if they were in Houston.
By the time I visited, the semester had wrapped up and the campus was closed. We were able to stop in to see the area and see remnants of the finished term. That's all I really wanted to see, and was happy that my nephew was able to show me a little of what he had been doing this fall. read more
