Deciding it was time to revamp the space, we wanted to remove the hot tub but were unsure what to do about the cement floor, which was always moldy, slippery, and ruining our outdoor rugs due to runoff water. We thought an outdoor kitchen or bar might be a nice addition, and figured we'd just repaint the cement floor. Being thorough, we had multiple vendors come out to compare and pick someone we could trust. The first couple of vendors seemed inexperienced and lacked creative ideas. The next vendor dismissed almost everything we wanted--he even said a sink was a bad idea because it might get clogged with celery, which was absurd, and his pricing was exorbitant. Then Larry from Jax Outdoor Kitchens visited us, and he was amazing. He suggested pavers over the cement floor and had plenty of helpful ideas for arranging the bar, placing drawers and cabinets, and adding a nice sink. We chose Larry and Jax Outdoor Kitchens, and things got started right away. His contractors came out to demo and remove the hot tub and install the pavers, finishing in a single day. It looked fantastic. Just a week later, the kitchen frame was up, and within another week, the granite and sides were installed, and the job was complete. The contractors were professional, fast, and their work was of impressive high quality. We couldn't be happier. Trust is crucial in these decisions, and Larry is the most trustworthy person I can imagine working with. We're already thinking of other projects for the future. This experience exceeded all our expectations.

He provided a detailed written contract, walked me through his process, answered all of my questions, and ensured the workspace was cleaned at the end of each day. Even when the project extended beyond the original timeline, I appreciated that Ben kept me updated about the challenges he was facing. His communication and transparency were reassuring. Unfortunately, the strong communication didn't last. Toward the end of the project, Ben became unresponsive. Two important tasks remain unfinished, the correction of a gutter that was improperly installed over my back porch and the removal of a large "Bagster - Dumpster in a Bag" filled with trash from the wall replacement. The last time I spoke with Ben was on May 14. He mentioned he was completing another project in GA and would contact me when he returned. Over a month later, with several unanswered messages, I'm having to find someone else to fix the gutter and figuring out how to dispose of the waste left on my property. Ben and his team clearly do quality work, but I'm disappointed in how the project was left incomplete. For potential clients, my suggestion is to hold off on making your final payment until all aspects of the job, including clean-up and waste removal is fully finished.
