Although, I can see why they opted to install high tech equipment in doctors' offices, perhaps to avoid any patient false accusations against their place of business. Also, I didn't want to spend extra $, treatment estimate, to help offset the cost of those nice beverages, cameras, and unnecessary services. I just want teeth treated @ a professional and clean dentist office, that's all. I should mention the place was really nice, clean, and the doctor I had a consultation with was pretty funny. :)

They not only squeezed me in on a really busy day, they stayed late to remove my tooth which became quite a complicated procedure. They truly went above and beyond and saved the day for me as we were less than a week away from a trip to Hawaii. They also came to the rescue for my father in law earlier this year when he had broken part of his implants which were quite old and his dentist basically left him hanging with no upper teeth not knowing how to repair his apparatus. My husband brought him to see Dr Salah and he and his team figured out a solution to his issues and he now has his teeth and smile back. I saw Georgia the first time I had my teeth cleaned. Georgia dropped the suction apparatus on the floor. She picked it up off the floor, & put it directly back in my mouth. I told the front desk that I never wanted to see that hygienist again. The front desk person said that someone changed my appointment back to Georgia. I asked to speak to Dr. Salah. He was unable to talk to me as he was between patients. The manager Mindy came out & asked me if I would stay, I could get my teeth cleaned by Kim at 2PM, then I could talk to the dentist at that time. I was already told by the front desk person that if I waited until 2PM I could then get my teeth cleaned. Approximately 25 minutes later Mindy came out & told me that Kim couldn't stay, but she would have Dr. Salah call me as soon as he was done. All of this was done in front of other patients with no care being taken by the staff. By 6PM I tried calling but the practice was closed. I never recieved a call back from Dr. Salah. This dentist was refered to me by numerous family members. I still can't believe I was treated this way.

Avoid Dr. Jane if you value your time, money, and smile…read more I first saw Dr. Jane in 2018 to address TMJ issues, and she referred me to a specialist. I spent years with that specialist and returned to her in 2021 to complete my treatment, under the impression that it would only take two years. It's now nearly three years later, and I'm faced with two choices: switch to another orthodontist or live the rest of my life with a smile I'm not proud of and unresolved jaw issues. Dr. Jane has shown a complete lack of care and attention to my treatment. For almost a year, I've been told that I'm "just a few adjustments away" from being done. Ten months ago, conveniently after my payments we're over, was the first time she said it was about time to remove my braces. When I pointed out my misaligned teeth and remaining issues, she said we would make the adjustments as I "deserved a perfect smile" after all this time, yet she has done little to make it happen. The problems are blatantly obvious. My front teeth are nowhere near level, I still experience TMJ issues, and my molars are so far misaligned that I can lick the brackets on the outside of my teeth even when I'm completely biting down. When I brought my front teeth alignment issues to Dr. Janes attention she said she "doesn't see it" or dismisses my concerns and said she would "leave a note in my file". Other people notice my teeth are misaligned at a glance, yet Dr. Jane keeps telling me I'm "one appointment away" from being done. The best visit was after she misaligned my teeth so much that my bite was off and I could no longer bite without my jaw popping. Dr. Jane then got visually aggravated with me and told me that was impossible that happened and issues like that are only caused by trauma. The final straw was seeing pictures in her office of other patients with clear misalignment after their treatment. At that point I realized that I will never get the results im looking for with Dr. Jane. I've spent over $13,000 between Dr. Jane and the specialist she referred me to, only to hear from my new orthodontist that I'm still months away from completing my treatment. I asked for a partial refund as I know they spent time and materials on my treatment. Dr. Jane has refused to refund me any of my money even though her treatment has not been anywhere near satisfactory. Now I get to go spend another $6,000 due to her failure to align my teeth. Don't make the same mistake I did. If you're considering Dr. Jane, think twice before committing your time and hard-earned money to an orthodontist who seems incapable of prioritizing her patients' care or achieving satisfactory results.

Just because I am a transfer patient of Dr. Richard Meldrum, doesn't mean you can't accommodate me. Like last month when I walked around with a broken wire in my mouth because you claim there's "no appointments available " I come in and Dr. Hunter then tells me that I could have come in due to it being an emergency. I then a few days ago call for a reminder on my upcoming appointments and she scolds me in my voicemail about not getting reminders. I do get reminders, like I should have to explain to you that I have a new phone. Every interaction with your receptionist is negative. Like just now, I ask if you can accommodate squeezing me into an earlier appointment (some people have busy schedules) and you quickly ask for my name , and then snap no and hang up. You're here to make MY life easier. Not the other way around honey. Get a new receptionist. Dr. Mark Hunter is wonderful, and the rest of the staff is lovely. I am very happy with my teeth. I just don't want to smile at your receptionist.

Warning about Great Expressions and their Orthodontist…read more My teenage daughter and I had braces installed by at Great Expressions Orthodontist in Canton, MI (suburb of Detroit). Dr. Sindy Goodman took over treatment once our original orthodontist was transferred. Dr. Sindy Goodman began to provide inconsistent feedback concerning our treatment plan. I requested to review our dental records due to the inconsistencies, but the office refused unless I paid them approximately $127 per record. Dr. Goodman's office also tried to charge me for services not rendered. I expressed it was my legal right to have access to our records at no charge. I sent an email and called to Great Expressions Headquarters in Southfield, MI about my concerns, and requested a copy of their policy for charging patients for services not rendered. I was assured that they would provide a written response, but never did. I requested Great Expressions transfer us to another orthodontist, but was denied. This left us with no other option but to continue treatment with Dr. Sindy Goodman. The following month, I arrived at Great Expression Orthodontist for my daughter's scheduled appointment. I requested to review our medical records during the visit. The dentist assistant placed our dental records on the counter. I then reviewed the record and placed it back on the counter while waiting for Dr. Sindy Goodman to perform treatment. THEN THINGS REALLY WENT BAD FOR MY DAUGHER AND ME. Dr. Goodman stormed into the examination area very agitated by the fact that I reviewed my daughter's records. I expressed to her that according to Medical Records Access ACT 47 0f 2004 in Michigan, I have the right to review these files. Dr. Goodman became very indignant, told me to shut up and demanded we leave the office immediately or SHE WOULD CALL THE CANTON POLICE. Dr. Goodman said, she would not provide service to my daughter or me anymore and would prevent us from receiving any treatment at ALL Great Expressions locations. I expressed to her that I found those comments unprofessional and offensive, and I would leave the office once she provided a written statement for not providing the required service. She then had her staff call 911. Once three police units arrived to the scene, they assessed that I hadn't violated any civil and criminal laws. I complained to the corporation office about the incident. Unfortunately, they felt that Dr. Sindy Goodman actions were justified and banned us from all Great Expression and refused to remove our braces. The was extremely traumatic for my fifteen-year old daughter and upsetting for me as a parent. In closing, there are some great orthodontists in the Detroit Metro area. I would use caution if Dr. Sindy Goodman was providing treatment. It is one thing to have a bad employee within a practice making the company look bad, but once the company stands behind those action then the company is as bad as the employee. Great Expressions could take a lesson learned from Starbucks. No one should be subjected to the type of treatment!

What an absolute Shit Show this business is running?…read more I was looking for a new dental location because I moved to Northville and Great Expressions was recommended by my health plan "Golden Dental" as a service provider. So I called him and I booked an appointment. They were extremely busy and it took me a month to wait for them to see me. But that's not really a problem. I understand that sometimes in life you have to wait. Having said that the big day finally came, and I arrived 15 minutes early, anticipating to clean my teeth . Not so fast, first, I had to sign my life away, which I did following which I was told that I need to do all kinds of things before we can actually clean my teeth, which is the only reason why I was there they wanted to do cancer screening they wanted to do x-rays and all kinds of wonderful stuff so they can charge $500 before I can get around to doing cleaning. Needless to say, I thanked them profusely to all the forms that I signed and left . I will have to drive for 45 minutes to get to my old doctor but it sure is well worth it. I don't feel like getting robbed for $400 to clean my teeth. When I came home I found out from my wife they were there were offering cancer screening like it was candy the last time she was in their office also. So if you're looking to clean your teeth unless you want to pay $400 to do so don't waste your time learn from my lesson. When you let your insurance company get robbed at the end, somebody has to pay it is not a free lunch. Shame on you Great Expressions of Novi.

The dental assistant took the crown, fit it on my tooth and said she had to make some adjustments. After that the dentist came in and went over my X-rays with me, I was overwhelmed so I left forgetting my crown. I called the next day asking if I could come pick my crown up because I never got it back. They proceed to gaslight me saying I never brought it in!! I reported them to the state board of dentistry. I don't want to go back to this office, but it would be nice to get a refund on the 1,000$ crown they stole from me.

My hygienist is always thorough and friendly while the front office is always a pleasure to deal with. Additionally, the patient rooms were recently painted and the chairs reupholstered so it looks like a brand new office all around. Thankfully I haven't needed any major dental work but if and when I do this is the place I'd come to.
