My new dentist admired the work that was done on my teeth and said it was some of the best he had seen. He asked if I had any cavities because they couldn't see them on the x-Ray or when looking at my teeth. I just had a few filled with Dr. May with no pain and no Novocain. Crazy! Appointments were always easy to make and they were super nice and understanding when I missed one due to the time difference where I lived, and was able to fit me in later that day. I had a great time talking with the finance specialist and we shared medical experience stories. Dr. Barrett was very professional and thorough. They used a new treatment on 5 of my teeth where it was needed to prevent and reverse cavities that were forming. That treatment isn't covered by my insurance yet, (FedBCBS) but it might be in the next year. My husband's appointment is next so I am hoping his experience goes well also.

Then they gave me my treatment plan which amounted to $13,000 without any real explanation. They hurried me through the whole process. They left my broken tooth hanging without even explaining they could have bonded the tooth to the other teeth so it wouldn't detach before some sort of dental work could be done to fix the problem.I went to another dentist the same day not only did he bond the tooth to the others, the treatment plan was less than half what Patel quoted me. Do not go here. They could care less and are only in It for the $$$$$$. Oh and by the way when I asked Dr Patel about my hanging tooth and what I should do I the meantime, he was like "oh well".

It's $200 for your first cleaning, even if you schedule just a cleaning. They don't tell you this…read morewhen you schedule--it's a surprise at the end of the cleaning. Lack of transparency here is an unsavory business practice. The invoice reads $92 for the prophylaxis (national average is $64), and then $40 for x-rays I didn't want or schedule, and $64 for a "comprehensive oral exam" that I did not receive because the dentist was too busy to see me. I asked for $100 back from Dr May because I did not schedule x-rays nor did I receive an oral exam, and he gave me the run around--he said the hygienist did the comprehensive oral exam and that all new patients are required to have x-rays, and you will be charged for them even if you turn them down. Again, NONE of this is explained prior to you receiving the bill. Clearly the guy has a massive ego and greed problem if keeping my $100 is so important to him that he would fight me over email about it. Sometimes businesses move to small towns to gouge where there is little competition.
