When this location (formerly a Kaisers) was taken over and converted to a REWE City, I was super disappointed that they did very little to change it other than swapping out items on the shelves. Then, in October, they closed down for about five weeks to do a massive remodel. The new REWE City has been changed to maximize space and more products have been added. Everything looks fresh and clean, and the aisles aren't as narrow and difficult to maneuver as before. There's even a little food bar!
The only downside is the registers; the way you're supposed to line up isn't apparent, so instead of people moving to the next one in line while the person is being checked out, they wait until it's open, thereby slowing down the process and making the line snake along the side of the store. Maybe some signs posted would make this clearer? Or maybe people will figure it out after enough time. Though, this is Germany, so who am I kidding? read more
