This was my first spin class in probably 7-8 years so I was slightly nervous how I would be able to keep up at this stage in my life. The studio is extremely organized and prior to coming, they request that you chose a bike on their site and pick your shoe size. Then upon entering, your shoes are ready in the cubbies which are assigned according to the # bike that you chose. Love the preparation so there is no wandering around and figuring it out when you get there. There were a few instructors greeting everyone entering with such great energy, making everyone feel at ease and welcome. The studio provides a locker with a lock which is extremely helpful. Gone are the days of leaving belongings in an unlocked locker. Then make your way to the bikes. At each bike there was a clean towel and 2 arm weights. This workout was definitely full body. Alex was a fantastic instructor. Her energy radiated the room and she encouraged everyone of all levels to push through their goal. The entire time she reminded the group to go at a pace they felt comfortable while still leading us to engage and push our hardest to the finish line. She was an extremely motivating leader while still keeping the workout feeling fun and achievable. Finishing the class gave me such a sense of accomplishment! I cant wait to come back!

I was a few minutes late because I didn't realize that Apple Maps took me to a different address than the one on the Cyclebar website. Maria helped me clip in and adjust the bike so that I could join the rest of the class. I already had shoes, but if you don't they have shoes available to rent. I tried the classic ride with Tara, it was so much fun! I loved that they incorporated some upper body workout with weights. Tara was so much fun the 45 min ride really flew by. They have water and towels available which really came in handy as I was not prepared with one. After the ride they had a booth for Yoga6 and Home Long Island - Maria's own brand. There were so many cute items but I HAD to purchase the wine glass! Perfect to unwind after a great cycle class!

The studio is very clean, the equipment is well maintained, and the instructors are top notch. My wife and I have taken spin classes at other gyms, including when we travel, but so far, we rate our experience at Crank Cycle the best. Denise, the owner, is very personable and bubbly and her enthusiasm is contagious. My wife combines her spin experience with participation in the challenging Shredz class that precedes the spin classes, so she really gets a great workout for 1.25 hours (spin classes are 45 minutes).

Then when I went to class today before training I once again tried to talk to her but she was too busy to talk to me. So before my second class in her studio I told her I needed to talk to her again, she was annoyed when I brought up an issue I had with her as a member. I was upset and I raised my voice and she immediately raised her voice back. As an owner of the business, you can not do that. It's unprofessional. I pay a big membership for her studio and instead of trying to resolve the issue when I said I will continue at her studio until the end of the month she told me to leave now and will credit me back for the month very nasty. So I packed my stuff up and left. No resolution, just very abrupt and nasty. No customer service as an owner and professionalism at all. She had her business partner watch me pack my stuff and leave. Then when I messaged her to let me know when she issued me a credit, I got a response back: "Why are you texting me, I'm going to block you". That fact and response alone was not professional for an owner of a spin studio. This was an unfortunate event and not expected from a person I have known for over 20 years. I am hoping she at least is true to her word and credits me the month back after she told me to leave.

I have been riding at Cycle Bar since before the studio doors officially opened and there were classes in the parking lot. After that first class, I happened to win a month membership, I did not even need the whole month to know that Cycle Bar was the place for me. More than 2 years later, I am still riding strong and even more happy with my decision to become a member. Cycle Bar is whatever you want it to be. For some it is a workout, and as someone who has been spinning for over 15 years, a really good one. The instructors are friendly, welcoming, and happy to answer questions and suggestions when you ask. Are they all the same? Not at all! Which makes it even more amazing! They all bring their own personalities and flare to the bike! There are days when I know riding with one will cheer me up just from their energy! For other people, it becomes a community. A community who cheers for one another when they hit milestones on and off the bike, as well as a community who I have watched support fellow members through hardships and illnesses. For me, it became exactly what I needed to help me on both my fitness and mental health journeys. Cycle Bar has many options for memberships, and their cost is also lower than other fitness studios in the Huntington area. Bob, the owner is amazing! He is extremely generous to many charities within the Huntington community. Bob is also very understanding. Over my two years, there were two occasions when I could not make a class and it was less than 12 hours of cancellation. One involved a car accident and another a way longer than expected appointment at Apple. I called and apologized to let them know that I would not make it and they were very understanding. There are reasons for no show and late cancellation fees. I am not a happy rider when I did not get "my" bike, and the person who reserved it does not show up - if you know, you know. As much as it is a community, it is also a business and someone's livelihood. If you are still reading this, and have not given Cycle Bar a try - I strongly recommend that you do!
