I wish I could give it a 5 star but I have to be honest. I had a 50 min. massage and even though the therapist was nice, I feel she needs to be more knowledgeable about how to treat patients who come to her in pain. I went with sciatic nerve pain and normally I don't needs to say much to the therapist they already know where sciatic is located. Not in this case. Mary Ann (the owner) is amazing! Not only is she great with last minute appointments but with moving appointments earlier or later to help the customer. She's done my appointments as early as 7 on a Saturday morning or or as late as 9:30 pm on a Friday night. There's no other place that will be this flexible with hours. I've been going to her for Brazilians since 2016. I live in LA now and I make sure to make a visit to SD atleast once and month specifically so i Can have my Brazilian done by her. I've also gotten two massages and they were just so relaxing and perfect for the amount of pressure I wanted. Her pricing is also unbeatable! If you have a monthly subscription with her (which goes to whatever service you want), then the pricing is very cheap. This is not a "you get what you pay for" because you get way better waxes here than at any fancy wax centers. I've gotten just about every type of wax you can get: sugar soft wax, regular soft wax, hard wax, sugaring, etc. Mary Ann uses soft and hard combo. Soft for the everything except the lips is hard wax. It's perfect for comfort. And she is very detailed. From the first time to now 3 years later. She definitely goes in with the tweezers to make sure you have perfection. Oh and u almost forgot to mention, she doesn't play that BS spa music. She'll have you hyped by the time you leave with hip hop, reggaetón, or Reggae, but of course she plays whatever will make the customer happy. Amy is awesome. I have been looking for a good, experienced Esthetician for over a year. Amy gave me an awesome facial. I have two more booked. This is not a traditional spa in its own building; its in an office building. But adequate parking. Some of the negative reviews, are not valid IMO These folks work on hourly booked appointments. Biggest problem for personal services is people being late. This impacts every client throughout the day. rightfully the practioner should cut your appointment late if you late. So you have no right to go on line and down rate the service when you were late. Be an adult and show up on time. Also there can be exterior noise to your treatment room. Which is REALLY ANNOYING. Amy jumped on the perps immediately and quieted them down. This has happened to me before. Revive needs to put up a sign that says quiet please to waiting clients. I purchased a Groupon for a facial and was very pleased with my experience. Nacre, my esthetician, was both sweet and utterly professional. Competent and knowledgeable, she carefully selected products to use on my sensitive skin which felt and smelled heavenly. After the mask was applied, she massaged my neck, shoulders, and arms. I have been seeing MaryAnn with my boyfriend for the past 1.5 years for a Brazilian wax and the experience has been nothing short of amazing. I initially found the location on Groupon. I have been waxing for about 4 years and she is by far the most accommodating, understanding, and efficient with scheduling and making me comfortable every wax. Maryann told me that there was and it was all set up and she asked if I would mind just buying directly and paying the Groupon price to accommodate the company which I didn't mind doing until she wanted my credit card info over the phone prior to even going in! I told her I wasn't comfortable with that and would rather buy the Groupon in that case and she then refused to book my appointment saying they wouldn't be able to take a Groupon purchase of the time slot she has just allotted me. Amy did an amazing job, she knows what she is doing, she is so nice and will make you feel at ease. I purchased a groupon on August 6th after checking on their website that their were openings on August 17th for a 50 min couples massage. I called them right after and was told that the day was booked. When I mentioned the website they said if I hadn't purchased the groupon yet they can see if they could get someone in that day for about the same price. When I tried to clarify the information they asked me to text them and they would get back to me in a day or so. I just checked the website again and it is still showing 4 openings. At 1130, 1145, 1200 and 1215. They texted me back letting me know that they only allowed a limited number of groupons to be used per day so they accommodate me. I have requested a refund from groupon and will not be going here. read more

Woman who did my facial was annoyed when I showed up 10 minutes early to my appointment. Facial was okay and it was nice that she massaged my arms and shoulders and head(only ever gotten a scalp massage with a facial) but when she massaged my scalp it got my whole head covered in the oil. I had to put my hair up after and wash it when I got home. The whole experience wasn't very calming and I expected more, but maybe they didn't care because I had a groupon? I bought a 50 minute facial on Groupon. I rarely get facials - this was my ~fourth ever. I've always enjoyed them but this was pretty special. First, it was lying down on a massage table - SO comfortable! (previous facials have all been in chairs - like dental chairs. They recline but - nowhere near as great as this :-) Second, in the past, when a mask goes on, the esthetician (right word?) goes away and .. IDK, texts? checks Facebook? Anyway, Anna didn't do that. She massaged my arms and upper neck area while the mask 'sat'. Third. I have never left with my face glowing like this! She didn't glob stuff on, and everything she did was subtle. My skin feels taught, but soft, but invigorated! Thank you Anna!!! (BTW, I saw a few reviews saying there was outside noise. Bad first impression! I purchased a Groupon for a "50 min massage of my choice". I called number to make appointment for a Pamer Myself Massage. Nobody answered and the voicemail States you can book online or text the number you just called. I text the number while on my break @ work no response during my break time. Not a big deal I know they're busy. I go online book the massage I wanted and I was excited. I'm communicating via text with Marianne and let her know I booked the massage I wanted and I will be using a Groupon. She replies basically that is incorrect. I call the spa Marianne insist that I can't book a massage of my choice online using a groupon online. She states I must have booked a swedish massage which is a higher price than the Groupon. I'm reading my Groupon word for word and checking my email confirmation and everything fits my needs. Unfortunately, shes telling me I'm wrong and that was a double booking. She said they have something for me at 7:30pm tonight. Unfortunately, that doesn't work for my schedule. For my first time experience before I arrive at the spa was to the least of my satisfaction. I got a refund for my Groupon. I would have given then a chance if she would've just apologized for the inconvenience, explained their system error, and accommodate me on a different day that would fit my needs, and get me excited again. I have seen a few different massage therapist but Andrew takes the cake. He is always available. My favorite part about massages is the deep tissue. I am always knotted up from running and powerlifting. Usually when I showed up I am either limping or super sore. When I leave after my massage I am walking up right and feeling like a million bucks. I tried calling this place 2 times.. The second time I called I was trying to locate their store to make an appt. in store (due to phone tag previously) and see how the staff interacted with me. While talking to them to find out where they were, someone came on the same line and started dialing lots of no.'s , I kept saying hello), so they call back twice but I was now in line at a drive-thru (I'm wondering what they heck is going on to pick up phone line that is already light up-never stopped dialing no's) and found it very disorganized) They don't leave a message to say I'm sorry, someone else that works here picked up the phone or something. They text me and say we're only by appointment. Please text us back. Is this run by a bunch of teenagers. So we just text each other back and you can't come into the store. I explained that were I went the spa had chains around it so I didn't know where they were. They said we're here. No one else had that problem. I've been to that spa many times in La Mesa so they must have moved but no one thought of telling me that. So disappointing. read more

I didn't mind at first but then she started advertising her other businesses to him and excluded me from the conversation. She also mentioned having him come back for a massage by himself. Worst Experience Ever! For full disclosure, I did use a GroupOn and When I called the salon owner immediately after leaving she did offer a complimentary waxing with another person to make things right. Here's the story: I have had several Brazilians in the past, so I am not new to this experience. I arrived to find the spa closed and locked. It is open y apt only. I waited outside in the office building hallway for 5 minutes before Anna finally showed up. She showed me to the room and gave me a small towel to cover with. Once she came back I asked if she could leave a little strip in the front. Then it began... She placed the HOT wax for the first strip. She tugged 3 times before pulling it completely off! It was so painful that I actually grabbed her arm. I asked if maybe the hair was too long because it had been a while between waxings. At this point she agreed and then trimmed the hair slightly to make removal easier. The whole process was very uncomfortable. I was wondering why I was being such a baby about it. After all, they are always slightly uncomfortable. During the procedure Anna was telling me how her normal gig is applying eyelash extensions. (I should have equated that with maybe she isn't good at or just doesn't like doing waxing!) When she was done she handed me a couple wipes to get any excess glue and she bolted. When I stood up to the mirror I was shocked! My skin was red and swollen. The patch was actually a group of probably 10 hairs that was left, tilted to the side, not centered, and showed no form of intentional placement. There was hair left in placed that had been waxed. Random stray hairs were spotted through out the waxed areas, while other areas looked like she had not even applied wax to begin with. The top layer of skin was pulled off in the crease of the leg. I quickly dressed and was preparing to leave. She stopped me to give me her business card and to mention her referral program for new customers! I was never given the standard after care instructions that first time customers normally receive. I was not told how to deal with the pain or swelling. I am not one for conflict so I tipped her (I felt awkwardly obligated) and left as quickly as possible. I immediately called Mary Ann, the salon owner, and explained what had occurred. She had apologized and said she had never had a complaint before ( which now that I have read the Yelp reviews, I find it hard to believe). She offered to give me a complimentary waxing next time with another professional. I accepted. But now that I have been home for a day I see how bad it really is. I will not be returning to this salon. Anna was very nice as was Mary Ann. I just do not think I can go through that kind of torture again. read more
