I cannot say enough awesome things about Jarrod over at Rev It Up! He was referred to my now-husband and I by our photographer, Bethany over at Maypole Studios (who is also all kinds of awesome, by the way). We were planning a small elopement ceremony in Chicago and needed to find an officiant with some flexibility. As soon as Jarrod and I spoke on the phone the first time, I knew he was the person who had to marry us. He was so excited about our big day, and was super flexible with everything we needed. Jarrod did a great job of staying in touch and customizing the ceremony to fit our needs. Jarrod at Rev it Up! was our officiant for our May wedding and he was nothing short of AMAZING! We were referred to Jarrod by our wedding planner Lauren P at LOLA Event Productions- she told us that every couple she knew that had hired Jarrod had said that it was one of the best decisions they made for their wedding. I agree with that sentiment 100% and can't recommend Jarrod enough. Jarrod stands apart for a couple of reasons. First, he is the kindest, friendliest guy- he is such a joy to spend time with and he radiated that warmth and genuine good nature from the front of the room during our ceremony. Second, he takes the time to get to know the couple he is marrying on a deeper level, learning details of their relationship and hopes for the future, to craft the most beautiful, genuine ceremony. Jarrod was an amazing officiant! My husband and I are not religious and wanted a sweet, simple, and short ceremony. Jarrod met us for coffee after we contacted him to get a feel for who we are. He asked some questions about how we met and what we like to do together and what we envisioned for the ceremony. About two months before the wedding, he sent over a draft of the ceremony, several readings he selected for us to choose from, and a list of some traditional and nontraditional ideas. He was open to any changes, unlimited revisions, and offering more suggestions if we needed. He was very professional and provided the perfect simple ceremony we were looking for! read more

Jarrod is amazing. We were nothing but incredibly impressed with his personality, professionalism, and presentation. He helped us from the very beginning and stood ready and flexible to support us and provide any and every bit of guidance we needed as we crafted our wedding ceremony. Holy Cow, I am so excited to write this review-- My husband and I were married last Saturday by the Wonderful and lovely Liz! We honestly can not say enough good things about her. Liz was sweet enough to come alllllll the way to our house to meet with us ahead of time (extremely last minute on our end) and get to know us. She instantly made us feel very at ease and comfortable with the process. Then to make a long story semi-short,...... here is our wedding day- The original plan for our wedding entirely changes the day of, and liz was soooooooooo accommodating and so sweet. Even though she had prior engagements for the evening, she didn't rush anything, she went 110% above and beyond to make our ceremony absolutely perfect from start to finish. All of our family and friends that we were surrounded by also just instantly loved her! I honestly can say Liz came to our wedding as our officiant, but left as our friend. I actually feel like it's an honor to write Jarrod a review for the work he did for our wedding this past December. Let me begin by saying I am a wedding planner and I have truly seen it all when it comes to wedding officiants. Jarrod is the kindest, warmest, most well-spoken and good-hearted person you could meet, and the perfect person to be a part of your day. The result was a beautifully written ceremony specific to us and our personalities, leaving everyone in the room with a full understanding of who we both were and what makes us perfect for each other. Jarrod was the perfect efficient. Our wedding planner introduced him to us and from the first meeting he made us feel very comfortable. Being a gay couple we were having an "unconventional" ceremony - but wanted it to feel rich with tradition while not being to spiritual. Jarrod listened to what we said and wrote a custom ceremony and vows just for us - that couldn't have been more perfect. Simply said: Jarrod is my favorite! My husband and I had recently relocated to DC, but were trying to plan a wedding back home in Chicago. On top of that, neither of us are particularly religious so we wanted someone in the middle of the road like we were. From the start, Jarrod went above and beyond. We explained our situation to him via email and he helped us decide on a price that both of us were comfortable with. He then chatted with us via Skype for a solid hour to ensure that our personalities were a fit. That was all in the planning stages. When it came time to meet Jarrod offered to meet us at a location closer to us - so we wouldn't have to drive far - and came simply to listen. My husband and I went back and forth about what were thinking and from our scattered ideas Jarrod was able to piece together a beautiful ceremony. The day of he helped usher our guest between venues and keep our actual wedding party in line. I am so, so grateful to have stumbled upon Rev it Up and if we had any intention of getting married again (never again, too much work) he would be one of the firsts on my call list. We cannot say enough about how much we loved having Jarrod as our officiant! From the first moment we met up with him, months before our wedding, we could tell that Jarrod was warm, gregarious, organized, insightful, and pretty much everything we could hope for in an officiant. He asked great questions during our first meeting that really got to know us and help us articulate what we wanted for our 30 minute ceremony. As some of the other reviewers have said, he contacted us about 2 months before the wedding with a draft of the ceremony and provided invaluable input (and a lot of fantastic guidance!) on the vows my husband and I each were writing. He also was a great asset during our rehearsal especially getting all members of the wedding party in line so that they knew exactly where to stand and what to do. Also, one of our readers was not available to attend the rehearsal and he made special effort to meet with her before our ceremony to make sure she knew exactly what to do. I'm truly excited to write this review for Jarrod! Jarrod did an absolutely amazing job officiating our ceremony In June:) Jarrod took time out of his schedule to meet us over drinks months before the ceremony to get to know us and guide us through what a ceremony with him would look like. We left that night knowing instantly Jarrod was the perfect fit. I was raised Lutheran and my husband, Hindu. We knew we wanted a non denominational wedding, and this was not only a tough decision for us but for our families as well. Jarrod made both my husband and I 100% comfortable and excited as well as both of our families:) He had us answer several questions and emails were exchanged after our initial meeting so that he could write our wedding story, which would be read at the ceremony. He shared the story with us weeks before the ceremony and was open to any suggestions or additions to the ceremony script. Jarrod attended our very relaxed rehearsal dinner at Pequod's Pizza and set the mood for how the ceremony would run the following afternoon. He made everyone in the wedding party and our families so comfortable and excited for the wedding:) For the actual wedding day, i can't say enough about him. The second I saw his smile and heard his voice, all nerves disappeared and i couldn't wait to get down that aisle. He conducted the ceremony with ease, lightheartedness, and fun.
