The buffet is really lacking. I was in no way impressed with the selection that they had. I was actually very annoyed at how low quality selection they offered. The meat is not cooked properly. My girlfriend thought her picanha was pork because it was so tough. Granted that she likes it well done but this was like eating a leather shoe. I asked for medium rare and they brought me meat that was super super rare. I had to let the meat sit for a while just to let it cook itself. Because I was the only one in the restaurant asking for medium rare, they decided to bring everything out medium rare even though I told them I only wanted fraldinha and picanha. I didn't want the maminha nor the alcatra nor the beef ribs. However, they kept bringing them to the table bragging that they were cooked medium rare. I hope they were disappointed when I turned them down. The surprising thing for me is how they didn't throw out the meat that was cooked super well done. Instead of trying to pass it off as well done to my girlfriend, they should have simply tossed it out. The amount of meat that was still left on the stick was very little and it should have been tossed. I just can't see myself ever coming back here again. And Ataliba is supposed to be one of the better churrascarias in the city which is really really disappointing.

They serve a vast selection of meats which are for 2 people. You then choose a salad from 4-6 selections. Then a type of rice from 4 selections. Then a type of potato from 6-8 selections and finally the type of farofa. They had a special of Wagyu beef when we went there. They tried to pass it off as Kobe beef but it was definitely not from Japan nor did it have the grading system of Kobe beef from Japan. That being said, I wanted my girlfriend to finally try some Wagyu so we ordered it medium rare. The beef was cooked correctly and was really soft. My girlfriend thoroughly enjoyed it. The salad that we ordered was light on the dressing and didn't really have any flavor to it. The garlic rice that was got was very good. The only problem is that in Brazil, they love to overload the plates with the fried garlic pieces which provide a crunch to the texture. I absolutely love it but the toilet doesn't later on. For the potato, we opted to pay a little bit extra for the onion rings instead. The breading was very good on the onion rings and the actual pieces of onions were gigantic. We literally arrived for dinner once the restaurant opened and by the time we left around 8, it was completely packed. I would suggest making a reservation here if you want to come later on.

The restaurant cooks really good German food and great pasta. They make great German sausages with sauerkraut, purple cabbage and the german mustards. They also cook a great drake. The potato salad is fantastic as is the risotto. There is always a pasta dish which is very good as well. On Saturdays, they have do a seafood buffet in addition which costs a little bit more but there are some great varieties of seafood plates. For dessert, they make a mean apple strudel and I have seen a blueberry pie as well which was absolutely fantastic. Beer-wise, they sell speciality beers (R$20 each) that are very good. I've only drank 3 of them but I want to go back and try all of them. Next time I come back to Blumenau, I will definitely drop by here again.

He was not focused on our table at all. I asked if they have pure malt beer and he promised to get the information for us. Now the adventure began. After take a long time to provide us the menu, he came back to get the order and didn't give us the information about the beer. So, I asked him about it. He then remember to tell us what he found out. He asked us if we would like to have a little appetizer to start with the beer. We agreed. We finished the first beer and it didn't come. I raised my hand and waved wildly to get his attention. He didn't see me but the busboy did. Finally we got it with the second beer and later on we got the meal with a dead fried fly. That was the most disgusting evening! We already have the meal on our plates we we noticed that. The waiter ordered another dish. We decided to take it and give to the taxi driver to have a nice dinner with his wife. A bill of 206 reais for two with a gentle fried fly. The only unfortunate part is that they go really light on the tomato sauce. Like REALLY light on the tomato sauce. I sneaked a peak at 1 of the pizzas served to another plate and it was really hard to find the tomato sauce if there was any. That's a shame because the crust looked really tasty. My girlfriend ordered the lasagna and I got the penne al arrabbiata. My penne dish was very good. I just wished that the sauce had a little bit more of a kick. However, that is me picking at straws. My girlfriend liked the lasagna but the only problem that I saw with it was that it was covered in a soup of oil. Lasagna should never be covered oil soup. That was a huge turnoff and I didn't want to even try that. If I ever come back here, I won't be ordering the lasagna. They had a decent creme de papaya as well. Service itself was very good. The interior has the homey Italian feel to it which is nice.
