We're new in this town, and this was the first restaurant we visited. What a WONDERFUL way to begin our residence here!
Spoiler alert: we love Mexican food (of all regions, even Tex-Mex ). We also love Peruvian cuisine. So, a small restaurant with both? Yes, please.
We bopped in on a Sunday afternoon around 1:30 without a reservation. Our waiter sat us upstairs and we watched as the place slowly filled up around us. (Note to self: Make a reservation next time!)
The menu is on a QR code. Most items have good photos. While the menu is not endless, there are wonderful selections, and each may well be the "specialty of the house. "
Our waiter was very attentive but not intrusive. He explained everything we asked about with humor and patience. My tamales were among the best I've ever had, as were my wife's enchiladas verdes... but the real surprise was the dessert our waiter recommended: the homemade "Tarta de Lucuma." Don't bother to look it up. Just order it!
I can't wait to go back and start working my way down the menu. To quote Humphrey Bogart, "I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship." read more
