I had heard nothing but good things about this place, so I was very happy to have the opportunity to try their sandwiches. This is a very small space, with a very small kitchen, so it takes a minute for the food to come out, but it is done per order and very fresh, so it is worth the wait. The ambiance is old fashioned in my mind, but very cute and suitable for a sandwich place. I ordered the Milanesa de Polo Sandwich, which is a chicken tenderloin sandwich, and a side of the fried sweet potatoes. The food actually came out in a decent amount of time,so I was shocked and surprised, but very pleased at the same time. As expected, the food was incredible and terrific like I thought it would be. The sandwich was huge and had to use a knife and fork to eat it. The fried sweet potatoes were excellent and had a nice texture. They were very flavorful. The sandwich tasted amazing and was one of the best chicken tenderloin sandwiches I have ever had since living in Indy. Now I see why everyone loves this place so much, because the sandwiches are high quality and just so perfect!! Our server was wonderful and gave great recommendations on the menu items. Her recommendations were spot on and everyone enjoyed their sandwiches. The steak is also incredible, so I would highly recommend the Lolo Supreme sandwich. Don Juan V's sandwiches is a wonderful mom and pop business in Indy that is worth checking out if you are looking for a fresh good sandwich. Given it is a small venue, you may have to wait a bit for your food to be prepared and delivered to your table, so will need to have some patience if you dine inside, but trust me, it is worth it and you will not be disappointed. The sandwiches are just that amazing!!

Even with the rush, I was able to snag a seat quite quickly. I was so impressed by how efficiently the staff cleared and prepared my table; it's those little touches of attentiveness that really make a difference. I decided to keep things classic and ordered the Asada Tacos. The service was remarkably swift my order arrived in under ten minutes, which is exactly the kind of efficiency I adore. While the initial presentation was a bit more understated than I anticipated, the flavor was a total 8/10 triumph! The staff was also incredibly accommodating when it came to my preferences; they brought over a lovely selection of chips and sauces, but were perfectly gracious when I mentioned I prefer to avoid the heat. These are truly some of the best tacos I've had the pleasure of trying lately. I will most certainly be a regular here!

I don't know how else to explain it. The queso is delicious. They have a salsa bar, and I'm not joking when I say there are a lot of delicious homemade salsas on the salsa bar. You have to buy a basket of chips, but it's very inexpensive and so worth it for the salsa bar! Lastly, the Al pastor is the bomb. The inside is really nice, the owners are so gracious and remember us when we come back each time. Don't sleep on this place--it's perfect for a weekday dinner or a weekend date night!

The servers and bar staff were friendly and very accommodating, pushing three tables together quickly to allow our large group of 10 to sit together. We ordered Nega Modelos, Coronas, Diet Cokes, and margaritas. I had a margarita which was pre-made and very sweet. It was served in a plastic salt-rimmed cup with lime, which was fine. We then ordered three different tacos to share with the group. The menu was on a dry erase board and all in Spanish. We had a Spanish speaker with us which helped, however, we could have gotten by speaking only in English with the servers however it would have been more challenging for sure. The atmosphere was festive and Hispanic upbeat music played pretty loudly in the restaurant/bar area. We were still able to talk and have conversations over the music so it was not too loud. I had an al Pastor taco, which was delicious! I also had a steak taco, topped with lots of chopped onion and cilantro, it was okay, but I prefer the al pastor much more. Everything was served on plastic plates with plastic silverware, very budget-friendly as well, downright cheap!! I have traveled to Central America, Nicaragua specifically and I found myself saying more than once while we were there: "This place is totally legit and authentic!" I would for sure think about going back to grab a quick taco or two but I would stick to a beer vs. a house margarita. Don't let the name of the place scare you off, they were very friendly and gave us plenty of "Latin Flavor!"

Our server was excellent...friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. She raised this review to 4 stars. The atmosphere was great as well. The calamari was very good, and the Carriage House margarita was excellent. Unfortunately, the entrées didn't meet expectations. The birria lacked flavor and seasoning, and the carrots were undercooked and crunchy. The mushroom empanadas also came out slightly cool in the middle. Because our server was so wonderful, we chose not to raise these issues during our visit. Overall, we have mixed feelings but would consider returning for drinks, appetizers, and the patio atmosphere during warmer weather.

Driving through…read morehere, you see the blight and the abandonment of this area of Indianapolis since the decline of manufacturing. Then again, it's not an uncommon story unfortunately- large parts of the city forgotten in terms of economic development but then suddenly needed during times of campaigning. Had taken Keystone and then Rural Street to get here, and the potholes are not kind. But, we had this place on our list and were determined to make it here at least once. Tlaolli stood out for its vegan offerings. Plenty of vegan taco options, birria (an absolute rarity to see vegan birria), and torta. They offer soy chorizo, jackfruit, and king oyster mushrooms as protein options. The exterior is colorful, and inside there are seating options. We had gotten our food to go, so I cannot comment too much on the service. Had placed our order online, and the food was ready within the estimated time in the order. We ordered the vegan birria tacos ($17.99), the vegan torta ($10.99 base but added soy chorizo, which was $3.99), and the no-no-no taco ($5.99). Our total with fees was approximately $45. Tlaolli offers outdoor seating, so when the weather is nicer this would be a good place to come. Next to the East Washington IPL branch, Tlaolli has a colorful green exterior with neon signage. Food: The food was very good. The proteins were nicely seasoned and juicy. The highlight for me was the birria tacos and the consome. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it. 10/10. This is a great local business in the area to support: offers a diverse menu of options with food that is comforting and tasty.

The great news is, the food was super delicious and everything was in the bags. We ordered a variety of dishes, including fried tacos, Horchata, beans, and rice, plantains, with Crema, tamales, guacamole torta, and Pupusas. All were packed with flavor and delicious. I especially enjoyed their beans and plantain dishes. The restaurant and store were all bustling with customers grabbing groceries or having dinner in. The vibe is what you would find in many other Mexican, grocery stores around Indianapolis that have a restaurant tucked in the back corner. We tried their fresh guacamole, arroz paisa, maracuya (passion fruit limeade) drink, and I got two Cuban sandwiches for the next day! The arroz paisa is to die for. For $15 you get this huge serving of fried white rice with soy sauce, Colombian sausage, steak, chicken, chicharron (more like grilled/fried pork than cracklin), & corn. It so had plantains in it which was a nice treat. It's hearty and filling and they don't skimp on the meat. Honestly it should probably be enough for two meals, but I totally demolished the whole thing. Their guacamole was chunky (the good kind), fresh, and super flavorful. The maracuya was the perfect level of sweet and a little tangy to balance out the salty of the arroz paisa ... A perfect combo! The Cuban sandwiches were definitely overshadowed by the arroz paisa, but were still delicious and loaded with ham. It might not be my first choice for a Cubano in Indy, but still give it a try!
