Walked up to Duque apprx 8:30 without reservation but got seated in about 15 minutes. The restaurant moves a lot of guests in & out. My wife and I both ordered the lamb chops. The lamb chops were delicious. Thin cut chops and cooked with full flavor. Large serving portion along with a bowl of fresh cut French fries which were also very good. While the tables and guests are tightly packed into restaurant, it is typical to expect at many Lisboa restaurants. Such an amazing place to eat! We had this dinner our first night in Lisbon and kept wanting to come back. We got the ceviche, sea rice, octopus, grilled sea bas and grilled prawns and everything was amazing! My favorites were the ceviche and the octopus, so fresh! Very charming place with an amazing number of tables stuffed into a room about half the size of our living room. It's less about space around than space within you!!! Can you handle it? Handle it for the sake of a very delicious dinner? The very attentive staff in fact advised against the tasting menu ("Duque's Banquet") as it would be too much ... The place offered a wonderful selection of solid rustic menu items, not to forget the delicious olives and bread to start with. Ceviche, Caldo Verde, Camarao ao Alho, Polvo Assado no Forno, Peixe da Lota were very delightful. The espresso was wonderfully strong. Loved this restaurant & have been telling all about the great service & food. We ordered a liter of sangria that was just delicious. Full of fruit & muddled mint, my non-drinking sisters had more than one glass. We ordered the oven baked octopus which was very tender & tasty and came w/sweet potato chunks & greens. The mushroom risotto was divine w/lots of flavorful mushrooms. The salmon was a large piece & perfectly cooked. It was accompanied by toasted potatoes and vegetables - all perfectly cooked. Our waitstaff was totally attentive, but not overbearing. The restaurant is fairly small, so recommend reservations, although they were taking people without reservations to another location. After we finished eating, we made reservations to eat there again & canceled at another restaurant - it's that good. Ok - second dinner must have been a different chef - we ordered same meal, was good, but not as good. The salmon was not seasoned the same & just slightly undercooked. Do not be fool by the exterior. This is a hidden gem. The place is super small but and the food will blow you away. Order the gambas they come in a coriander rice that you can soak bread until the last drop. Make sure to ask the waiter for their fresh fish options. The ambiance is cozy and make sure to check their bathroom if needed (very personalized). Definitely this is my place to go when in Lisbon. read more

Absolutely everything was so flavorful and tasty. The fish was very fresh (I normally don't eat seafood, but opted to try the fish since it's a local favorite). The food is good here, but not great. I wouldn't recommend it because this restaurant is dishonest and misleading. Most who come here are American travelers, probably from the Yelp reviews. The wait staff is friendly and show up at your table with a small tray of olives, cheese and bread. They say "This is the house starter. Would you like it?". Well what they don't tell you is it will cost you €8. (Scam). Then you ask for tap water. They tell you they have only bottled water. Well their bottled water was filled from the tap. It tasted TERRIBLE! Do they really think people can't tell the difference between tap water and bottled water in Portugal just because you put it in a pretty glass bottle? (SCAM). Then they charge you ₹2,50 for tap water. I just can't ethically recommend this place due to their shady practices read more

Portions were relatively small and the polvo was overcooked. On the same street(next door), there is an unassuming mom and pop place named after a Japanese Nintendo character.
