We came here Sunday night. We actually were headed for another restaurant but it was closed. We saw this was open, so walked over.
Didn't speak a lot of English but food was great and service was fine. The place filled up with locals as the time wore on.
We ordered grilled vegetables, tortilla, asparagus with mayo, fried cuttlefish, and razor clams.
Tortilla was the spanish classic. Served kind of cold.
Asparagus with mayo: not a fan of mayo normally but this was really good - smooth, snow-white, and tasty. Loved it. Came with five huge white stalks of asparagus.
Grilled vegetables were a vast platter of carrot, asparagus (green), tomato, green & red bell peppers, red onion, eggplant, and zucchini. Beautifully arranged and with grill marks.
The huge plate of cuttlefish were all tiny whole animals fried in batter and accompanied with a nice salad.
Razor clams were in the shell, steamed open. I love razor clams and have never seen so many. Wife thought there was grit in them & I guess she was right, a little. But I figured it's the price you pay when eating clams.
We decided on the chocolate truffle dessert. Came with five little balls & whipped cream. Nice.
A hidden gem well worth seeking out. Can't believe it's not reviewed yet.
Attached to it is "Alameda Sushi" which I guess is a japanese-oriented joint. read more
