The interior has charming vaulted red brick ceilings, a sort of indie vibe from posters announcing local events, and a great soundtrack of retro mostly rock music. The large outside patio is pleasant and very welcome for folks wanting fresh air. The Hostinec has a good selection of Czech beers on tap. They also prepare classic Czech pub fare such as nakládaný hermelín (a camembert-style Czech cheese that's marinated and served with bread), utopenci (pickled sausages), and the somewhat controversial beer cheese (reportedly similar to Limburger; I rarely see it on Czech pub menus any more). I had the tatarák, a traditional Czech take on beef tartare, served with topinky (fried toast) and garlic. I had not had tatarák in years and this did not disappoint. I wish I hadn't had a late lunch or I would have tried some of the regular food as well. Everything about the Hostinec was great and I look forward to visiting again when next in Hradec Králové.

This little restaurant is across the street from the church and we lucked out choosing this place! There is both inside and outside seating. We sat outside and watched the servers really move as quickly as they could. The male server came to our table and spoke English well. We ordered the fried chicken and the pork cutlet. Both came with either "american potatoes" or fries. Everything we had was delicious! The place was very cheap and the food is delicious. I am so glad that we found a great place in such a touristy little spot. Definitely try this place!

We each tried something different and our favorite was the chicken w/ bacon and bleu cheese w/fries for a side to help clean up the extra sauce. If you sit outside beware: smoking is aloud.
