Les Vinyes served up a delicious platter of perfectly-cooked peppers, which paired very well with our chilled wine. We then had the lamb ribs and the salmon "tacos" for our entrees. The tacos are definitely NOT tacos as you would expect in America - they're much better! Think of a cracker served with a large chunk of raw sushi salmon with guacamole and hummus... mmm. The lamb also was a great choice, and looking around the restaurant, I didn't see a single dish that looked unappetizing. We then ended with some of the house desserts. When we left, people were filling the place, so the locals definitely know where the good food is at. All in all, we ended up paying less than $50 American for a three course meal with bread and wine for two people, which I think is a great deal.

Because of the reviews we saw online, we knew that El Cable Bar was one place that we simply could not miss. Our bike ride to El Cable was easy. There are plenty of places to lock them up on trees lining the streets leading to the restaurant. When you walk inside, it might be busy, as this is a popular place for people who know about the restaurant. We sat down and were immediately served. Price-wise, everything looks good- not too expensive for drinks, and reasonable for the food. Move any closer to the beach, and I'm certain these prices go up by at least 50% for the same or fewer portions. I happily order patatas bravas, a sirloin and eggplant combo, another eggplant tapas, and fingers de pollo. From the tinto de verano to every last tapas, it was all simple, yet delicious. I would highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Sitges, Spain. It's the perfect way to kickstart your vacation.

The building itself is an impressive example of Brutalist architecture - which they've tried to tone down with a pinkish hue of paint! On Saturdays there's a large temporary market in the adjacent square, selling all sorts of leathergoods, shoes, clothes, fabrics, bedding, plants, kitchen utensils - you name it. As you'd expect, there are bargains to be had, alongside plenty of tat, so check the quality (and beware the odd pickpocket, as it does get very crowded).
