Magdeburg is a medium sized city in northeastern Germany. Until 1989, when the Berlin Wall fell, Magdeburg was behind the iron curtain in what was a part of East Germany. Here on business, we dined at Restaurant Sinfonie located on the ground floor of the Maritim Hotel...this being Sinfonie's first Yelp review. I had both dinner and breakfast at Sinfonie. Our group sampled several dishes including the salad w/ chicken, the Spaghetti mit Rucola and the more traditional Schweineschnitzel. The highlight, however, was the Tomato Soup with Ricotta cream. It was rich, thick and very tasty...highly recommended. I'd rate Sinfonie a 3-star experience overall balancing the pros and cons. Along with the Tomato Soup, another star was the local Radeberger beer on draft...my first from this Eastern part of this country.
