How does a restaurant go from a 4-star beginning to a 2? Well, let me tell you! This place is tucked away nearly 1/3 of mile (or so) from the main square in Loerrach. It's a beautifully lit and cozy restaurant with a nonintrusive, but friendly staff. We even got a shot of ouzo - gratis - to start off our meal - nice touch. Everything is beautifully plated and the grape leaves starter with a cream/gravy sauce was unexpected and delicious. As were the salads - 1 greek-style with feta and another with a simple vinaigrette. Where things fell off was with my entree. I had ordered the dorado. It came looking perfectly grilled with a side of lemony rice and vegetables. When I cut into the fish, it was raw. Not "just a little raw" either. Very, very unappetizing. We called the waiter back. No apology or anything, just took my plate away. I shared my husband's gyros (a bit too salty and made from pork, not a lamb or beef - odd) while I waited. When my dish was returned, it was clear that they had put the same fish back on the grill. I don't have a problem with that, but now, the fish was over-cooked and very dry. At that point, I was beyond complaining. We just finished our meal, paid the check, and left. Too bad as a little act of goodwill on their part would have gotten them a 4 rating and a return visit. First impressions do mean a lot. read more

A lessee took over. It was not good. Since February 2022 it's under new management and it's again my favorite Greek in town and I'll bring everybody and their mother back to this place for decent, reasonably priced Greek food once again.

Their menue is small, but diverse and has food for everyone, menues for good value or just meze (appetizers) as well as main courses and desserts. The popularity and quality of this restaurant is underlined by the many greek guests visiting and eating the food as well as just staying around. In summer the nice back-garden under the wine leaves is open and lets you enjoy the food outside.

Wir gehen oft in das Poseidon, es ist schon quasi Tradition bei uns zweimal im Monat leckeres griechisches Essen zu geniessen. Es schmeckt immer gut was mich immer aufs neue überrascht. Die Bedienung ist immer freundlich und man geht auf unsere Wünsche ein. Das Essen ist nie mal auf dem Teller hingeschmissen, sondern richtig mit Sorgfalt hergerichtet. Das Poseidon gibt sich seid Jahren Mühe und schafft es immer wieder seine Gäste auf Abwechslung zu überraschen. Man sieht wirklich, dass jahrelange Erfahrung dahintersteckt. Für uns persönlich der beste Grieche der Region. P.S. : Die Portionen sind genau perfekt und eines der gepflegtesten und saubersten Restaurants in der Umgebung. Weiter so! read more

Wie immer: Gewohnt sehr gute Qualität, sehr netter Service. Natürlich sind die Angestellten manchmal kurz angebunden-es ist ja auch meistens voll!!! Also ich esse NUR noch dort wenn ich griechisch essen möchte - und als Halbgriechin will das schon etwas bedeuten! Das Essen war super lecker und frisch. Meine Baby-Kalamares waren perfekt hergerichtet und das Rumpsteak meiner Tochter war auch superklasse. Die Bedienung war auch sehr nett und das Restaurant bildet durch seine Einrichtung ein sehr gemütliches und romantisches Ambiente. Deswegen gibt es auch die volle Punkteskala. Sehr schöne Location und der beste Zufluchtsort für gute originelle griechische Küche! Wir besuchen mit unseren Kindern oft das Poseidon und es stimmt eigentlich immer alles. Die Gerichte sind für Groß und Klein optimal portioniert und die Servicekraft ist immer sehr nett und bemüht. Kurz gesagt: tip top! read more

Bestes Essen dank kreativer frischer Küche. Der Service ist sehr freundlich und unaufdringlich. Man schmeckt nicht nur Knoblauch, sondern die Frische der Speisen und Gewürze. Bin schon oft im Poseidon gewesen. Das Essen war wie gewohnt super und optimal portioniert und das Personal nett. Allerdings empfehle ich am Wochenende eine Reservation. Gibt eigentlich nichts an diesem Griechen auszusetzen. Super romantisches Ambiente. Mit ruhigem Gewissen zu empfehlen! read more
