The chicken curry was dropped off and we gave it a taste. The chicken had the texture of rubber and the curry flavor was like no other ever had. Something was just off. Then there was the beef and the sour cherry rice. We have had lots of Middle Eastern grilled beef and this was absolutely horrible. The quality of the beef made it uneatable. Normally the sour cherry rice would have helped the food out a bit but the cherries were almost invisible with no taste. This food was a total disappointment. This food was on the expensive side for the quality. Service was pretty good. Bit of a language barrier but made it through. Can't recommend and will definitely NOT return.

As I had forgotten in most European cities it is customary to have reservations, and of course we did not. This did not dissuade us as the proprietor of the restaurant and bar promptly allowed us to sit at the bar and order food. Much to our surprise it was not as busy yet as most other places however with reservations they bank on filling chairs with locals that frequent the establishment. The Ambiance: A quaint little (meaning noe more than about 30 seats in the restaurant total) with mediterranean motif, and a rustic greek flavor with the furniture. Light music could be heard in the background and the smells were of herbs and roasted meat. Perfect. The Service: Asked right away if we would like beverages we quickly grabbed an Israeli beer and my wife grabbed a coke. The beer was good - standard lager from just about anywhere that tastes relatively the same, however the bottling was clearly distinct and right from somewhere in Isael. We were also served promptly (probably within 10-15min) for our food. I had decided to get some chicken and hummus and the wife decided (as usual) to get the Argentinian steak. The Food: The food was amazing. Although I love my chicken and hummus with pita and garlic sauce / tzaziki -- the Argentinian steak (that I got a small morsel of) was excellent. Tender, flavorful, and quite a bog portion by european standards for the price. Summary: Moderately priced overall and with the flavors and service the service of the Mediterranean this was just what we needed to fuel our next day adventuring in Munich and Oktoberfest. PROST!

As we were walking around the area today I peeked at the menu and it was a Turkish menu so we decided to stop. Turkish places are always good for vegetarians and this place was no exception. I was a bit surprised to discover that it was a Turkish restaurant. It's a Schwabing institution from what I can tell and was fully renovated and restored in the last 10 years. The menu is extensive and has plenty of breakfast, lunch and dinner items. There is also a good selection of starters and salads. Vegetarian choice is also very good. I decided to try the mixed hot/cold starter plate and ordered a cherry / banana smoothie called Kiba. The Turkish bread basket came with the meal and it was not as nice and chewy as I would have liked. The smoothie was fabulous and the starter plate was ok. Missing a bit of flavour and intensity and the hot items were all deep fried. I was expecting more salad but it was very little. I did like it but did not have a wow moment. Everyone else at our table also liked their meals but once again no wow factor. I will come back and try other items. The service was a bit slow considering the place was not full. All in all an ok experience that I would repeat again and try some new dishes.

It's open for lunch most days and less busy during the day. The menu is fairly varied with a big selection of cold and hot starters, fish, gyros and other greek specialities. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. They have a selection of drinks including greek beer and, some greek wine. We shared a cold Mezze plate and it had a nice selection of dips, calamari salad and beans. All of these tasted quite nice and I really liked it. For main I had grilled calamari which was delicious although, it had a bit too much olive oil used. The flavour was great and I enjoyed the tender calamari. I also tasted the octopus and it was also amazingly tender. I would happily come back here again and try a few more dishes. Food is good and reasonably priced and the service is very friendly.

At the end of our meal, they brought out two shots of something... (we didn't drink it, but this is tradition in Germany, I believe). The host was even nice enough to call us a cab after we ate. Things to know: This place fills up fast so make sure you show up early! The staff doesn't speak much English, so try to know some menu-basics. They only take cash so be prepared.
