The ones here taste much better and are much less expensive. We came here the first time on our second to last day. I wish we had come sooner, we would have stopped every day I think.

There is a reason the line is down the entry steps out the door at most hours of the day. It can even be difficult to get in line on market days (Tuesday, Friday, Sunday) when merchant stalls block a direct path to the door. This bakery-the ovens are just to your left when you are making and paying for your selections-is a cut above the ordinary. And despite how busy they are the folks behind the counter are knowledgeable and friendly. This is our daily bread go-to place in Annecy.

We had the pain au chocolat, pain au raisin, croisssants and some baguettes. All of it was excellent but the stars of the show were the Eclairs - it would be worth the trip from London to Brides just for those!! Even better, the owner is British and if, like me, you mangle your French and don't know the difference between J'ai Pue and Je Pue he can sort you out. Five stars - I would give six if possible!
