We found this restaurant on Yelp and was very happy we did…read more The server spoke a little bit of English but with the help of Google Translate app, we were able to understand the menu and order. We got the 3 course meal and everything was tasty and nicely presented. Portions are a bit small but we weren't starving so we were fine. We were one of the last tables leaving for the evening so it wasn't very busy. The chef came out and asked us how things were. We told him everything was good but one piece of the lamb was a bit tough because of the silver skin. The chef explained the lamb dish consisted of two different cuts and one part was a bit tougher. It was nice that he came out to chat with us and we could give him feedback.

We got there at 8.30 and left at almost midnight! My falafels were extremely hard and dry. The staff told us that they were missing 3 people and that they were usually close that day (then, why even open). They forgot my desert, i had to ask about it. The egg appetizer for the kids was way too greasy. Overall the food wasn't good at all for the price. The chef forgot the foie gras on my husband's meat and brought it at the end of the meal with no salt, bread or confit.

We were on a walking tour through the town of Saint Emilion and I saw their little sign outside and…read morewas determined to come back for lunch. When we entered, the kitchen was right there and a couple bar stools and tables. The owner said there was more seating upstairs and he guided us up. They legitimately have a blackboard for their menu. And he brought one upstairs for another table to look at while he grabbed us some water. We were there for Saint Emilion wine and so far I had not had a glass of wine from that region that I liked. So I asked for a recommendation. He came back with a small taste that I didn't prefer. He came back twice after. I finally liked the third one! My husband went with the second one, because he was feeling bad sending this guy running back and forth downstairs for wine, but he actually preferred the third one as well. See pic. The menu is limited and changes daily. We shared two appetizers and two entrees. Everything was so fresh and healthy. We opted against dessert since we had picked up the local famous cookies earlier. Service was excellent, from the guy I presume to be the owner. There is one chef downstairs cooking everything. Seems there are locals that stop for lunch at the bar area in the first level. They have one bathroom for customers, it is clean and well stocked. There is some parking - there is a cafe across the street that has two spots. However, it's a narrow street so you'd be safer to park further and walk here. I don't believe there is an elevator so the limited mobility folks would have to stay on the first floor. There is no ADA accessible ramp. You could probably get food to go if you were unable to get inside. This was a refreshing break from the typical cuisine we were having all week. I would eat here again. I love that they have a rotating, quality focused menu.

They serve a daily menu, but they are happy to accommodate. I specified we were vegan when we made the reservation, and we were happy to have an app and a main offered. The tofu stir fry with fresh salad was absolutely delicious, as was the fried zucchini appetizer. Don't sleep on this family-run establishment!
