Super friendly staff and owners which are another reason for 5 stars or when have you been to a restaurant the last time where your waiting-staff doesn't need to write down your order? For a party of 4?? And actually serves the entire order without missing anything??? The food is MSG free and good. Because they don't use any flavor enhancer you might think the food is a bit bland but I always think that when I eat in Germany. Just go for the spicy stuff and you will be fine.

We arrived just at opening for dinner and were the only couple there. We got a warm greeting and seated quickly. Our waiter immediately asked us if we would like a beverage/water. Having checked their website prior to going, I found the brewed their own beers, so I asked what types of beer they had in tap. My wife got a Pilsner and for myself, a German IPA. Bioth were excellent. We had the waiter translate the menu all everything looked awesome so it took awhile to decide. Within a half hour of arriving the restaurant started filling up quickly. Lively crowd but not too loud. An AWESOME experience and a fantastic way to cap off our last evening in Basel.
