The service is on the slow side and most of the service staff are young and inexperienced. First visit was in April and I had fish and chips. The fish was fresh, with great crispy batter but overcooked by a couple of minutes which meant the fish was on the dry side rather than moist and succulent. Good home made chips.
On our second visit, hoping for better food, I had the gazpacho and the bouilbasse. Gazpacho was massively oversalted and missing totally missing the sherry vinegar for the necessary subtle acidic hit. The bouilbasse that appeared 20 minutes later lacked any salt at all, and the fish stock was not a stock, but just tasted like water. Perhaps this was my mistake to mention that I found the gazpacho too salty, they decided to leave all salt out of my next order! Very disappointing!
For dessert, I ordered a scoop of lemon sorbet, hoping for a something sweet and delicious to end the meal. But no, it was very generic and pedestrian. What I found excellent was the herbal tea, brilliant big cup and a big pot of leafy infused herbs.
