Excellent accommodation for Graz if traveling by car. A little off the beaten path but a quick drive into downtown Graz. The locale is beautiful as it is next door to a huge pilgrimage church. Parking was incredibly easy at the huge public lot which is free over night. The room was a little noisy at night because there is no air conditioning so we had the windows open and other guests kept arriving under our window. Still, it is a very quiet area and the noise was brief. The rooms are very spacious and the hotel has a great charming feel. The staff was very friendly and mostly kept out of sight, even at breakfast which was included. It turned out to be a great base of operations for the Austrian Grand Prix.
The restaurant was nice as well with fairly friendly service, though a bit slow, though this did at least tell us that the food was being made fresh. The beer selection wasn't huge, but was tasty. The ambiance and decor is very traditional Austrian. We were given the wrong food, I had ordered the cordon blue and my wife ordered veal goulash with dumplings but we were both served the beef goulash. It was very tasty but very safe and traditional so didn't stand out. We were told it would be comped as a result, but this didn't happen and it didn't seem worth the fight. read more
