It might be seen as a strange idea to go for a good lunch from the Lipno "paradise" to the Boehmerwald mountains in Austria, but actually, why not? The probability that you will get a better food is quite high. Thus we have visited the Haagerhof Restaurant of the Family Hoerchlager, and were completely pleased by the overall experience.
Their signature dish, Hirschmedaillons, comes with a red-onion "cabbage" (17 Euro), soups are delicious (we have tried Wildcremmesuppe at 3,20 Euro and Knoblauchsuppe at 3 Euro), Hirschragout at 9,70 Euro, Kaeserspatzle at 8,20 Euro and Zucchinischnitzel at 9,20 Euro, all different tastes, but very tasty and "creative", in a bio quality.
They offer delicious Austrian wine, 4 whites by glass, 5 reds by glass (I have tasted the Sabathini WR/SB at 3,50 Euro per glass and 20,10 Euro per bottle, and is was good, refreshing, what a great match with Zucchini!
Salads from salad bar come "for free" with some meals.
The view is beautiful to the broad green valley, and in winter times, this restaurant could be a great starting point before a nice country skiing tour (the trails start from there).
If you decide to come for a summer Friday evening, the grill bar will be opened from 6pm.
I would highly recommend for a nice relaxing evening! read more
