Finally, at the cash register, we were talking about adding another miniature bottle to the purchase which seemed to really annoy the young woman behind the till. No one was in-line behind us and when I went to pay for the additional miniatures the disgruntled female employee simply walked away. Luckily a nice young man rang us up as she obviously did not have the patience to. Seems like they are so sad to be there working.

As others say, nothing is cheap here so I wouldn't suggest to buy anything you can find at COOP or Denner. For other alcohol such as vodka or gin, I also suggest you try Duty free or other liquor store for a better deal. PS: Conveniently located in inside of the train station.

I wouldn't buy a can of Feldschlossen here --- it'd be cheaper most other places --- but if you're looking for some heartier British drinks or the occasional imported microbrew, Drinks of the World may be your best bet. This location is much more spacious than the cramped Zürich hole in the wall, and has a better flow than the Winterthur version; probably the best-laid-out version I've been to. Until your average Coop or Kiosk starts stocking more porter, I'll be a Drinks of the World regular.

Along with Italian and German wines, they sell a number of spirits, from various grappas, limoncellos, and other Italian liqueurs, to Black Forest Obstbrände. They also have fancy Italian sweets and honeys, olive oils, vinegars, pesto, and other Italian foods brought by car from Italy. Generally, you can taste much of what they sell. Quite recently, they even started offering espresso for EUR1 per cup. Not bad, especially for such a good espresso, definitely the best I've had in Freiburg! Of course, it's clear they offer it mainly to draw in potential customers, but it's worth trying. On top of all that, the two guys who usually work there, Adriano and Claudio, are very friendly and knowledgeable about what they sell in the store. You can come in and talk about what they have and they'll be happy to talk as long as you like. Truly a well run store with some great things to offer. And usually cheaper than the nearby Primo Market. Check them out!
