Wanted dinner. Apple Maps suggested this on the route, and Google had a few outstanding reviews. Easy access from the S7 highway halfway between Warsaw and Krakow, in a small hotel.
Polish food with a gourmet upgrade. Had excellent sour rye soup, but with an egg and bacon. Wonderful smoky flavor! We also had a nice pumpkin soup.
Entrees included beef cutlets ("cheeks" on the menu) with apple/squash chutney and nice vegetables, and a truly outstanding duck with red cabbage/apple/blackberry purée.
Dessert was a nice Crème Brûlée with baked orange slices.
Before we left, they gave us a shot glass of a Polish lemon liquor called cytrynówka, made by a friend of the owner. Tart and refreshing, not very alcoholic. We're going to look for some in Krakow.
