Today after taking an exam for graduate school I saw David for my weekly acupuncture session and…read moretold him my shoulders and back had been feeling super tense (read: painful) since the night before from studying. By the time the needles came out I felt like I was laying on a table on a cruise ship in the warm sun. I could almost smell the piña colada that would surely be there if I was, in fact, on vacation. And my face felt like I took one of those really long, drooly, restful, naps you remember as an exhausted college student (or recall as a very grumpy toddler, because we are basically one in the same). I've been going to Simpson Acupuncture since August and could arguably say I'm a little addicted. Initially we worked on my seasonal allergies, and then on some of my slight food allergies (itchy mouth) with some digestive help, which we were able to significantly improve. (I can eat pineapple and coconut again!) But even when I come in and my stomach is acting up or my shoulders feel like they are up to my ears, david can ease that too. Not to mention he's great to chat with. You might even leave and call your mom to rave about it. Every week. For months. (I totally don't do that.. Who, me? No waaay) Go see David.

Her experience and expertise in acupuncture goes far beyond treatment. She is deeply connected in the world of acupuncture and is a life-learner. So much so that she not only has an academic appointment in the IU School of Medicine Musculoskeletal Department, but she is returning to school for her traditional doctorate. Jen rocks and i encourage anyone in need of specialized healing to reach out to her. Jill Bolte Taylor

This is a fantastic place that brings together so many wonderful practitioners and teachers! I've…read morehad the pleasure following Jill's acupuncture practice from Touchstone's old location to their new location on North College. The new space seems even more peaceful than their former space already was. It looks custom designed with a beautiful, open reception area, a large, fully stocked yoga, pilates, and barre studio, and private treatment rooms. You feel relaxed from the moment that you walk in the door with help from their trickling water feature and aromatherapy. They have an easy breezy self-check-in station by the cubbies for shoes, bags, and sweaters, and provide glass water cups for their complimentary water. There is also ample free parking directly outside the main doors in the lot. A ringing endorsement for Jill Schimmelpfennig: I have seen her most recently for stress-induced abdominal bloating, constipation, and difficulty passing gas. One session provided immediate relief within an hour of treatment that lasted for two weeks, and a follow up appointment has given me the best bowel movements in recent memory! :D I should have seen her sooner, now knowing how much of a difference one treatment would make. I share so that others can benefit from Jill's knowledge and experience. She is a jewel in the crown of Bloomington's robust healing community. She also teaches Qigong at the studio (currently on Monday evenings) and the deep breathing that accompanies the gentle practice is the perfect maintenance for daily and seasonal stress. I couldn't recommend their entire staff more highly and have taken wonderful classes with David, Gabriel, and Beth. Touchstone provides unique, therapy-focused classes that, for the most part, you can't find offered elsewhere in town.
