Shout out to the recycling driver who picked up the extremely large pile of broken down boxes today that we placed beside the bin. We needed that help... and he picked them up without hesitation. Several times the truck lift dumped my recycles on the ground instead of in the truck. Then didn't get out of the truck to pick it up. Just leave it on the ground all over the place. Driver should have the common decency to pick it up and throw it back in the recycle can. read more

Been a customer for over 6 years. Last Thursday they sent a new driver for our area. He decided not to pickup our yard trash because "it was over the limit" that is not correct. I called on Friday, waited for about 20 minutes until someone picked up. I explained the situation. She said they'd schedule a special pickup for Monday. Nothing happened on Monday. So I called them today (Tuesday 08/03/2021). After another annoying long 12 minutes hold I spoke with a customer rep. She looked at system and said "the requested pick up was canceled"! I asked to speak to a supervisor. I waited again and was able to speak with Karen I think. I asked her the same and her response was not what I have come to expect from Republic. Karen said "well according to the picture the driver says you had two huge pile of yard waste that was not bundled nor secured. Really?! I personally spend the time to cut them to the acceptable length and then secured them with wraps of twin. If the drive had only looked s/he would have see it. So, now Republic is accusing me of lying?. I then asked what they plan to do and she said "I don't know. All I do is send your case to the local office and have them handle it". Republic! What happened to your motto of "customer service" people. God only knows, I would go to another provider if Republic did not have the monopoly for our area. And a phone number to call back which does not even ring!. He never call back or followed up either. They have ONE JOB. They don't do it. And they have a mafia-like monopoly going here. This isn't NJ. I don't get it - I've never paid MORE for such a simple thing as trash removal, and never gotten LESS service. You try to make it easy for them, and they just leave the items week after week - with no explanation. You try different containers, bigger containers, smaller containers, multiple containers - anything to make it simple to pick up and haul away - and the items are left. You call them, and you get a very well trained run-around. The one star is because the representative is very patient and professional, and I can't give zero. This information will not help you - because you have no choice but to use this terrible company, but at least you'll know what you are getting into. Good luck. read more

I have had missed pickups and getting the run around trying to reschedule. However, the main point I would like everyone to be aware of is the fine print in the contract. We signed a 3 year contract for dumpster service for our rental properties in May of 2013, since then the rates have gone up substantially, to the point of being able to get much more capacity from another carrier for less money/month. When we went to cancel our contract we were informed that the contract we signed has a clause, that to terminate the agreement, it has to be done 60 days in advance of the end date of the contract by certified mail, OR it automatically renews for 3 more years (May 2019). And the penalty is paying for 6 months of service you don't get. My wife who is a very sweet and calm person was livid. Thankfully we only have until next spring to ride it out. Our experience of dealing with the complaint line is that those company representatives (who are based in Florida I believe) who handle the calls are well trained, courteous, and I believe sincere. However, the York County PA branch is far less than accommodating - which is where the rubber meets the road. read more

Got a waste container because they were the cheapest quote. Everyone was pleasant and efficient. Delivered and picked up promptly. A few weeks later we received a bill and it was for double what we were expecting and had some charges that weren't spelled out in the quote. Also it was due oct 20th but we got the bill oct 16th! When I called they said it was itemized to show how it was broken down. Also they never showed the credit from what we already paid so what we owed didn't match the bill. Customer service was very friendly and fixed it right away! Was overall pleased with republic services. read more

I had to call five times to get them to pick up a bulk item. The customer service of this company is horrible! Every time I called no one knew what was going on! I was even told at one point that the bulk item had been picked up when it had not been! Today I had to call customer service again because my trash had not been picked up for two weeks. When I called no one could give me a straight answer AGAIN! I have lived in my home for over 15 years and we only recently (about a year ago) got Republic Services. When we had Wast Management I never had any issues. read more
