Ha! How did I know I would be back with an update? After assuring me that last month's payment would be the last one I would make, the saga continues. Today, 12/17, I received a bill from Republic Services for $30.00 for container removal that occurred on 11/3 (the containers were removed on 10/15 and I was told this was paid for on 11/23). I get on the phone with a supervisor who informs me my account balance is $0 but the "system generated invoice" is trying to catch up with itself? I requested written communication that this account is closed and the balance is $0 because I do not trust this company not to try & send me to collections again for an erroneous charge. At this point, I genuinely feel as though I'm being harassed by this business and I cannot get them to stop billing me erroneously. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and I can guarantee, if I receive further communication after resolving this today, I will be pursuing legal action to once & for all get this company to leave me alone. read more

Surly not going to waste my time anymore with trying to get a hold of someone else what a joke! I also have 2 commercial properties you service and that's a joke too! Another picture added 04/04/2020. The trash truck picked up my bin and left it blocking the driveway. The recycling bin is still full but was pushed up on the curb and turned to the side giving the recycling truck an excuse to skip it. I have the bins lined up on the street, facing forward, side by side, every week. If they are turned to the side or on the curb, the use it as an excuse to skip the pickup since it's not lined up for the truck. Laziness!!! read more

9/4/19. Came home to find my garbage wasn't picked up, all the other cans were emptied. Things happen I get that. But they said Friday before the can come back out. After a weeks worth of garbage sat in the sun since 7AM. I am only allowed to have my cans out until 6 the day of pick up. I am really getting tired of my cans not being emptied. I always put them out the night before pick up, exactly as they are supposed to be placed and they will skip right over me. I have to admit this is something new. I have been a customer for over 12 years and have only had this issue in the last 6 months. The first two times it was my recycle bin and it was only a third full so I just put it away and put it back out the next week. Today it was the regular garbage and the can was 3/4 full. So I called and complained. The customer service woman was very nice, apologetic and set me up for service on Thursday. If this keeps happening I am not going to be nice next time. It seems like this is a simple enough task and should be able to be accomplished each week. read more

Talk about incompetence! Set up my new service. Took about 3-4 weeks to get my containers. Come to find out they used auto fill when making my account and set up a second account under my name one street over, same number but different street! It has been a nightmare getting that account closed, I have never live on that street. I have called several times and they keep assuring my it is closed, today they credited the past due. And supposedly closed it for good. I guess we will see. Super frustrating, every time O call they throw their coworkers under the bus saying the last person did it incorrectly! This is how a monopoly treats its customers. They quoted us $385 for a 30 yard trash dumpster which is below their competitors. We ordered the dumpster, but when we called to have them pick it up they added an additional $116 for "enviromental fees" without even knowing what we had put in the dumpster. This is a standard fee that they charge everyone, but don't tell anyone about prior to pickup. Call Lunas or Western Elite for upfront honest pricing. We love our Republic Services workers! My 4 year old son is OBSESSED with garbage trucks, so we've been going outside every Monday that I have off for the last two years. All of the sanitation workers are SO kind, honking their horns, waving, rolling down their windows to say hi! Our recycle truck driver, Sergio, evens stops his truck to let my son honk the horn or press the buttons!! My business opened up on the 30th of August I have been on the phone with this company everyday since they dropped off our trash container and have not been able to get them to pick up our trash. I have spoke to 5 different supervisors been told they will call me back or our trash will be picked up by 6pm and as of today nothing still. My business is off Eastern and Charleston and we have a big problem with homeless and every morning I am having to pick up trash outside that the homeless has made due to the lack of service I pay for with REPUBLIC SERVICE. read more

Republic Services is absolutely terrible!!! If I could I would leave negative stars!! My trash tote that I get from them broke, they said they would bring me a new one on my next service day... Ok great right? NOPE on my next trash day I put the thing on the curb and it wasn't exchanged!!!! Come to find out that the trash tote has to be empty for the service guys to pick it up and leave the new one!!! So where the heck am I supposed to put my trash for an entire week???? Never seen worst than this in my life, they simply do not care, they really don't. They just bill you for no reason and make you pay it or there will be a lien on your house. When you call their customer care they do not give a shit they simply rude and refuse to help "just pay it." some one in government has to look in to this BS, I am sure there are a lots of people out there just like me, they are backed by government because the law is in there favor. they probably contribute a big chunk of $$ to someone's campaign. Wow, you guys SUCK!!! Have been requesting a refund since I found out I had a credit on my account when I sold my house and moved out of your service area. That was on 06/04/2018. Nine weeks later, no check, and called back again to be told it was never issued since I never closed the account. Today, no check, CS rep sent it back to billing for a refund. I'm officially renaming this company to "Republic SLACKERS"! Worst company ever! First off, they used to pick up our community's garbage twice a week, which makes sense in Vegas, as it's hotter than hell here in the summer and there's nothing worse than the smell of baking garbage left out in the hot sun. However, these loafs decided to change service to only once a week pickup instead. You'd think Republic Slackers lowered their bill since they're coming less often though, right? Nope! They just collect even more profit while providing less. What a scam! Next, with all this extra profit the offering less service for the same amount of money scam earned them, they were able to buy brand new garbage trucks. Then they had the nerve to inform our community that their new trucks "don't fit on our streets" and therefore we are all required to schlep our garbage cans way down to the end of the cobblestone street for trash and recycle pickup. Now it's not me I'm complaining about this for. Sure it sucks but I'm able-bodied and I just get extra steps in on my Fitbit. I'm complaining because I think of my ninety year old veteran neighbor next door whom I see struggling to take the garbage out as it is. And what happens to me when I'm old too? It's a pretty far distance to require us, the customer, to drag our cans all the way out there, bouncing around on these cobblestone streets. And again, WHY can't your employees do their job we are paying them to do with all this extra money you're making off of us? Take that money you're saving by coming 50% less often and use it to pay your workers to move the trash cans wherever you want them and keep the change, aholes! Problem solved, you're welcome. I mean, why make it OUR problem that your company, Republic Slackers, bought trucks that are too big for our streets? And why is it that when myself and all my other neighbors banded together (strength in numbers) and refused to abide by your rules after complaining about the things I prefaced above, that your company DID pick up our trash for weeks in the EXACT SAME curbside spot we'd always put our trash on, with the SAME EXACT trucks you're claiming are too big for our streets for, eh?! What an epic fail and load of GARBAGE that excuse you gave us turned out to be... Why would you even buy new trucks that don't fit the streets of your customers? Republic Services, Las Vegas's trash monopoly can be clueless if you call in to try and find things like where to pick up recycle bins or order a trash can. The call center reps will send you to transfer stations with offices that are closed on weekends and annoy you to no end. But that all changes when you visit the Henderson Transfer Station office. There was a lady there that had my recycle bins, she was able to answer ALL of my questions, and she did so with a smile. The quality of service provided...it was amazing compared to the phone experience. 4 Strong Stars. Yes a smiling older lady handing me recycle bins made me almost forget about the clueless call center people. And if you have to go in to dump trash here, the line looks long but the staff tries to move it along quickly. read more

Any time you need to get things cleaned up in the house, the best way to get rid of all your junk is two ways: a. Sneak out late to one of them "deserted" strip malls or office areas to dump your stuff in their garbage containers. Don't mind all the cameras.... or.... b. Get your ID, your last Republic Services Bill and head down to one of their transfer stations that accept household garbage. c. For free, you can get rid of all your non-toxic and non flammable waste. I find this very convenient, and even when we have paint and other hazardous items, they do have certain days they collect these. There is a limit to how much hazardous waste each family can bring. Again, this is all free and all you have to do is to deal with the DMV-like line with the person that checks you in. It is old style, very cumbersome and takes a long time for no real reason. Open daily from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. It is convenient for sure!!! read more

The staff here really seemed to hate their lives and their jobs. Since it was my first time at the dump I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do so I needed direction. We got to the window and they guy quickly greeted me with "ID". So I handed him the ID and my utility bill (if you have a utility bill the dump will be free) he logged my info, gave me my ID and went back into his little hut. I wasn't sure if he was done or if I was cool to leave? He came back about 2 min later and said "port two on right". We then roll into port 2 with another rep standing there. He directed us, very poorly, on where to go. "See that white truck over there, go on that side of it." I was totally lost as there were two white trucks together and many sides that I could have pulled up on. He kept looking at me like I was stupid saying "this side of it, this side of it." Clearly directional sides were not in his vocabulary. Even my friend, who has a Master's degree could not figure out where he wanted us to go. So we just pulled away and took a guess. He came over and looked at us like we were wasting his time and pointed us in a more clear direction. I think if they were more clear, friendly communicators this trip would have been awesome. I have been a resident of Henderson for 9 months. During this time the waste and recycling pickups have been great but the bulk pick ups have been HORRENDOUS! They have skipped my address or our block 6 times in the 9 months. Yesterday was missed so was the last bulk pick up 2 weeks ago. No accountability. Local manager is the one at fault since he or she isn't readying their missed pickup reports and taking actions. I have asked to speak to the local manager but they always refuse to give the name and number of this person. read more

Very convenient to use the transfer station. Just bring your bill and your ID, and it's free. Make sure you're paid up on your bill. I went as a new customer, and thought I was enrolled in autopay. I was actually behind on my bill. They let me pay right there, and all was good. The next day I was back, and the guy remembered me. It takes a while for the payment to process in the system, but no problems for me. I'd recommend against going on the weekend if you can. There was a line around the corner onto Eastgate. I did go in the afternoon, so that was my fault. I've been once, around 8am (they're open at 7, not 8), and there was no line on the weekend. Every time I have gone on a weekday, there has been a minimal line (0-3 trucks ahead of me). For those of you that are concerned, smell wasn't as bad as you would expect from the dump either. read more

Republic Services has vastly improved their services over the past ten years. They are very quick to answer any questions about my bill, my pick-up schedule, and special requests. They treat their customers far more professionally now which makes it pleasant dealing with them. If they miss my street's recycle bins on trash day, which occasionally occurs, as long as I call them the same business day they are very good about arranging a return trip the next day to pick those up. read more

I HAVE CALLED 8 TIMES! They missed my trash last Friday and cant seem to get a missed trash pickup to me. My pick up days are Tuesday and Friday mornings. I called twice on Friday stating that they didn't pick up and was told i would be put on a "priority" or "urgent" list and that drivers in my area would be notified. Well the weekend came and went and lo and behold my trash was still full. I called again. I was told they weren't able to get a pickup to me today but they could on Wednesday since Tuesday was a normal pickup day...finally my trash nightmare would be over. I filled the trash up after they left on Tuesday with the extra trash bags that was taking up my working area. Well, Wednesday morning rolled around and it was still full. I called to be sure they were still picking up that day and i was ensured "Oh yes drivers can sometimes take a little longer on extra pickup". Well later that night still full. Thursday rolled around i called again stating my problem again. I had a yelp comment commented on by republic services customer service tell me "We took photo evidence that there was a pickup on Tuesday" well congrats on doing your job. They've stopped replying. I called again at the end of my day on Thursday and basically i was told i can pay for a pickup or change my pickup days since missed requests are pushed off to the next business day. I swear to god i hate this company. I should not have to call this many times to be told to pay for their incompetence or change our schedule for them. The customer reps are nice and concerned they tell me i have been put on urgent and that they've notified drivers every time. I understand this isnt their fault but damn am I pissed at republic. read more

My trash can got a large hole ripped in it from the arm on the trash truck. Also, we put our old refrigerator out for bulk pick up (we followed the instructions on the website), but they didn't take the refrigerator and now the office is closed! We have to haul the fridge back up our driveway so the hoa or city don't fine us for leaving it in the street since i don't know if they are coming back for it or not! read more

I really like how they recently switched our neighborhood the one week pickup service and gave everyone the big blue garbage cans. It makes our neighborhood cleaner and we don't have as much trash around like we used to when people would leave plastic bags and random trash outside on the curb. read more

The drivers have no respect for the people that live in the area they sevice and dont care about the trash and glass they drop in the process of dumping the recycle. Every single period we have recycle on our block one of us has to sweep up glass. I have called asking about the big one bin recycle containers and have been told its still being rolled out by area, and it could be up to 2 more years before we can get them in our area. Round of applause once again for the outstanding workers at Republic. I've tried 4 consecutive times to have our recycling bin fixed that the garbage truck ran over- (yes they are aware they did it and didn't care enough to deal with it at the time and instead just left it in the street- I've got it on camera from my driveway). Finally on the third attempt someone showed up to replace the can, BUT instead of grabbing said can that was sitting right in our driveway, he took the time and burned more calories to leave a note stating it was not out in the street because having it 5 feet up in the driveway was too difficult for him to retrieve. TOO DIFFICULT TO RETRIEVE BUT APPARENTLY EASIER TO GO WRITE A NOTE, WALK THE FIVE FEET TO THE CAN AND PLACE THE NOTE ON THE CAN. We live in an HOA community and I CANNOT leave said broken can in the middle of the street when it is a PRIVATE DRIVE. There is barely enough space for one car to drive in and out getting to their garages- let alone Republic thinks people that live here should also play "dodge the broken/busted cans" in the middle of the street like a day at Wack-A-Mole. These people are going to cause me to have a stroke before I even hit 50. read more

The people working for Republic Services are the laziest sad sack group of creeps imaginable. From the useless pickup guys to the office people making up the pick-up rules on the fly, and there is nothing you can really do about it. Its exasperating. Twice a month bulk pickup in Henderson turns out to be about once every two months or whenever the pickup guy feels like it. Whatta pain in the ass hauling stuff back into the garage because they wont take it. Call the customer service number? Don't bother. They've heard it all before and have every excuse in the book at hand. What else is there to do? Complain to the Better Business Bureau? Mayors office? City manager? This is a multi billion dollar company with a monopoly. I doubt that they will ever care enough to fulfill their end of the customer contract. If only there was a sure fire way to get The City of Henderson to consider other haulers. read more
