I have always put my trash cans in front of my work truck on trash days (since i do not work that day). This afternoon I was awoken by my neighbors because the pick up people moved my trash cans in front of their house, where the curb is red. There was also the attached note on the bin. First time at transfer station was a 40min wait to dump. Last week...an hour. I've been in line now for 90mins. Could be weekend or 7am on a Wednesday. Doesn't matter. Just poorly run. The staff slowly saunter around with no sense of urgency or apparent aim at doing anything. Would be nice if they at least told those in line, "hey...we have to push the trash into containers...might take an hour or so". We just moved into our home a about 4/5 months ago. Our trash day is Wednesday and for some reason the recycling truck that comes by NEVER picks up our trash. We have called multiple times and yes, they send someone out next day, but they aren't addressing the problem which is that they skip our recycling each time. I recently moved from Florida and I can't stand the trash service here in Nevada. They come only once a week and won't take anything that's not in their actual trash bin. I went and purchased an identical trash bin and they still didn't pick it up just because it didn't have their logo on it. It's honestly pure laziness and terrible customer service - like why I am paying you guys? In Florida you can literally set out a couch, oven, dresser, 100 trash bags of whatever, etc. and they will ALWAYS pick it up. On non bulk days, you can still have trash bags outside of the bin and they would pick it up. Icing on the Cake? Last week I set out a bunch of cardboard boxes which was clearly to be recycled and guess what... they took with their bulk trash services. Again, get out of the truck and take the 5 extra minutes to provide some customer service. If we provided this type of service at my work we would literally have no business, but hey, perks of being the only trash provider in the area. read more

I give Republic 3 stars because they are reliable. This is if your residential. If you're a business, that is iffy. My work numerous times has had missed pick-ups where we had to call them multiple times to resolve the same issue. Now if you have to call customer service for residential, may the lord help you! You will wait, and wait, and wait, and wait! In addition, they will ad nauseum ask you if you would like to call you back or stay on the line. It will not be in 5 minute intervals. It is more like 30 second intervals. Not only that, after they ask you once and reply 2, they will again ask you the same question. My only reason why they do this is the hope that you get annoyed and press 1 for the call back or that you step away from your phone and don't press 2 to stay on the line. Either way, they can have the call ended. So, I actually drove to Republic Services Office. I tell the rep Republic Services gave me two accounts with a credit being on the one account. Do I get any, "I'm so sorry!? Let me help!?" Nope! This rep treats me with utter ice. Ice cubes could take lessons. She acts as though it is my fault I have two accounts. She tells me she will put in a request that the payment which resulted in the credit to be verified it came from me. The credit that is under my one account attached to my name! But, the need to verify the payment?!?!?! Then she tells me, if it is verified the credit will be moved over to the second account. But, in the meantime I need to pay the amount owed before it's past due. Also, it's a huge office building servicing customers. Ask to use a restroom? "There's no restroom!" WOW!!!! read more

On February 26 republic services trash truck was picking up our trash can and hit the driver's side mirror of our truck with the back end of their truck. The whole arm and mirror had to be replaced. The supervisor left his business card and gave us the name of their insurance adjuster. We were told to get the truck fixed and they would pay for everything. (All we had to do was call the adjuster since the supervisor had already seen our truck on the day it ha The accident happened on Tuesday, we had the mirror replaced on Friday and we received a check on the following Tuesday. Just have to let people know how fortunate we feel to be a Republic Services customer. We've lived in Henderson for 29 years, started service when it was Silver State in 1991. We've never had an issue with residential pick up, billing, any service needs or when using Eastgate location drop off for trash items. Our driver who picks up at our home is Donald and we think he's awesome! He is always friendly, dependable and provides best service ever. Our two small grandkids are usually here on his pick-up day and they wait anxiously to hear his truck come down the street! He always takes a few minutes to honk, wave, say hello and even takes the trashcan up the driveway for us old folks! We are very satisfied loyal customers. They are unprofessional and lazy. Scheduling to start service was a nightmare. First, they told me and my neighbors that delivery of approved bins wouldn't start in our new area for months, so we should purchase bins. Thank goodness I was too busy to actually buy a bin, because then the bins were delivered a few weeks later. Some of my neighbors wasted money buying their own, because after the approved bins were delivered, the pickup guys refused to pick up from the purchased bins! Also, my family was billed and paid for at least a month of service that didn't actually occur, and we never received a refund for that month. On a regular basis, the recycling pickup didn't happen. I recycle a lot, so a missed pickup was a big deal. Also, bulk pickups would only happen if I called to demand them, and sometimes not even then. This despite the supposed regular schedule for bulk pickups. Anytime one calls the company, the people have no idea what they are talking about. read more

4/27, I put my trash and my recycle can out for pickup on 4/28. The recycle was picked up but, the trash was not. This is the 4th time in 6 months they have missed picking up our trash can. I realize our street is narrow and they are unable to turn around so they have to back out and then back in in order to get the trash on our side of the street. On 4/29, I went online and filled out the missed trash form. Today is 5/2 and my trash (and my neighbors trash) is still out waiting for them to come back and pick up our missed cans. There are gross spots on the street that looks like some sort of liquids are dripping from the trash truck. The trash collector still continues to move my trash can, he is not blocking the driveway anymore, but still moves the can. I had hoped if I ignored it and not make a big deal out of it then it would stop. I am the only house on the block that he does this to. His actions are clearly intentional. I know it is intentional and has nothing to do with saving time because he takes the time to bring my neighbor's trash can up into their yard (actually gets out f the truck and pulls up the can). The trash men that pick up trash in my neighborhood suck BADLY!!!! If they drop something on the ground they don't pick it up or they don't completely empty your trash can. This past week I just watched them take people recycled item and just throw it away with the normal trash. A trash guy came up to me one day and said that my trash can weighed to much. Really! They switched to one day a week pickup (even though when you login to your account is says Saturday and Sunday for waste pickup), and they will not pickup any trash bags sitting right next to the can. So I call up and say, well not everything fits into the can. They say, "leave it for bulk pickup, which comes AFTER the first truck." OK, I say. Besides the poor service this company provides (see all the reviews) they are dishonest and underhanded in the way they close services when a house is sold in Henderson. Although Republic Services states they follow a solid waster ordinance established by the City of Henderson and that their close of service protocol coincides with water service, Republic Services does not conduct themselves anything like City of Henderson water department. I had no issues with closing water services ahead of close of escrow on the sale of my house. With Republic Services, they were dishonest and underhanded with how they overcharged me at close of escrow. Mind you, my account was fully paid, but they decided to double charge me for two months and add additional charges for a month I would no longer be the owner. (this is because they function on a quarterly system and do not know how to prorate). In other words, they care nothing for common sense decisions that supports positive customer service but, on the other hand, are all about what's easy, inefficient, unscrupulous, and best for their own pockets.
