First visited the L'Aquarium du Perigord Noir 17 years ago. I enjoyed this return visit and the extras, including the Iguana Park, added in 2009.
While we didn't see the feeding with a diver, we were lucky enough to see the carp being fed, indeed we gave the staff a hand and, later, we happened to be in the iguana area when their dinner was delivered and they ambled to get their share of the pellets.
There are some thirty pools here for the freshwater fish collection and the highlights for me were the carp and the sturgeon. Some of the pools are built out from the glass into the natural sunlight so that some of the 6000 fish enjoy it.
Besides the fish and iguanas, you will see innocent little tadpoles along with a collection of snakes, some small, some big, who may not be so innocent. All in all, it is a pleasant visit (EUR9.50 per adult), and has the usual facilities, including cafe and souvenir shop.
