I just had to go inside Repetto. I'm not a shoe person (other than pointe shoes of course), but it's a ballet themed store, how could I not? I thought at first that it'd just have ballet-inspired outfits, but they sell actual dancewear and accessories, and even pointe shoes!
Looking at the prices of their shoes, I saw that their ballet flats (their specialty) go up to about 5-digits. Ouch! I prepared myself to see the same amount on the pointe shoes, but when I checked - P1,600?? I had to do a double take. Most pointe shoes cost about P4,000 and that's already cheap. Apparently the Repetto brand of pointe shoes last just about as long as other brands do, like Grishko. They also sell high quality leotards, tights, cover ups and warmers, dance bags, and - gasp! - lovely, lovely skirts and practice tutus! I squeal. :D And prices surprisingly aren't that different from other dance shops.
I read that the designer of Repetto is all too familiar with dancers using their bags as pillows while napping in between rehearsals, so he designed the bags so they'd be spacious enough for the clutter of dance accessories but comfortable and soft too. Well, what a thoughtful guy. *hearts*
Kinda ironic, isn't it? Repetto is where the ballet flats are hella expensive but the actual ballet shoes are really cheap! :D read more
