    To reply to Rob C., yes, I was a client and yes, I'm sure this is the same business. Look at the phone number in your reply and one of my rent receipts. Same number, same company name. The claim that "you have no record of that" isn't surprising. You won't take the two seconds to look up my account, because you just don't actually care! You already got your money; you're not going to go out of your way for a previous client who is surely never going to rent from you again. Calling Rentwell is not useful. I've gotten passed off to other employees and hung up on using that same number. If you're going to help, give me a better phone number than your standard line. Obviously, I've called that number and gotten poor results.

    Talk about frustrating conditions and poor communication…read more The property manager no-showed our scheduled tour, and we waited about an hour before hearing back--only to learn another tour had been prioritized. We also observed significant chipping and peeling paint and chose to pay for an independent inspection. The results indicated lead levels in paint debris exceeding EPA thresholds in both the bedroom and living room. When we asked whether remediation would take place, we were told it would not. We provided a copy of the inspection report for the unit at 56 E Lancaster Ave (2nd floor, 1B1B) to the property manager and were surprised by the response. Based on this experience, we felt uncomfortable moving forward and believe future tenants should be fully informed.

    They were ready to lease a unit with documented lead levels above EPA hazard standards…read more I was a prospective tenant for a property under their management and was close to signing a lease when I noticed the unit had not been certified as lead-safe after reviewing the lease documents. Because of this, I paid out of pocket for a certified lead dust inspection. The results showed floor lead levels significantly above EPA hazard standards (multiple times the allowable limit). After sharing these results with Mike McNally and the property owner, I was told they did not intend to remediate the issue and would instead proceed with disclosure. I was also told they were not concerned about the results being reported to the health department. This was extremely concerning, as these levels meet the definition of a lead hazard and can pose real health risks to occupants. It raises serious questions about how other safety issues may be handled. Separately, communication and professionalism were consistently poor. When I initially scheduled a tour, I arrived only a few minutes late but was left waiting for over an hour with no response despite multiple calls. I eventually received a text saying there was another tour scheduled and was asked to reschedule, even though my appointment had been booked in advance. While I was later given access for a self-guided tour, the lack of communication and disregard for scheduling was frustrating and unprofessional. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend exercising caution when considering properties under this management.

I was comfortable negotiating terms with Vicky and Zach and I knew they understood every concern and past mistakes the new Board didn't want to repeat. Our Onyx contract is still only 4 months old but after our community town-hall tonight, The Board and and community have expressed nothing but praise for our new management company. Our files, documents, investments, and our money is respected. The quality of work contractors they have recommended and brought to us have exceeded expectations. After I posted the February 26, 2026 review (see below) and emailed multiple people at Onyx Capital Management on February 26, 2026, Mr. Zachary G., the maintenance manager, personally intervened, reviewed my video evidence accurately, apologized and took full accountability for an initial vendor error. He ensured the repair was completed promptly and followed up with professionalism. I am updating this review to reflect that the operational failure was eventually corrected. However, I am raising this review from a 1-star to only a 3-star rating because the administrative process remains a concern. The general manager, Ms. Victoria L., prematurely dismissed my concern and deleted my community post shortly after it was uploaded. She also posted a public comment stating that the lamppost had been fixed, based on an inaccurate assessment of my video evidence. Furthermore, she did not reach out directly to clarify or correct that public statement once the error was identified. While the maintenance leadership is professional and capable, the administrative side of the business still has significant room for growth regarding transparency, due diligence, and resident communication. ------------------------------------------ Feb 26, 2026 My HOA has Onyx Capital Management as our management company. On 11/28/2025 I submitted a maintenance request for the replacement of a lightbulb of the lamp post facing my rear door. As for 2/26/2026, almost 3 months later, the lightbulb is still not replaced. I sent video evidence that it is not fixed. They replied with a photo of a working lamp post, not the one that is broken. Thus far, this company has FAILED miserably at keeping the promise stated on their company website: "At Onyx Capital Management, we set the utmost standards to provide care, support, and quality to our homeowners and Board Members." I have sent multiple emails and called a couple of times. I have been patient. But this latest replay is the last straw. Onyx Capital Management's failure in this case is completely unacceptable. ------------------------

Sergio and Corinn are friendly, knowledgable, professional and the easiest people I have ever dealt with in this capacity. No matter the issue or question I had, they would respond almost immediately, and work with me, even on a Sunday evening. The apartment I rented was finished the day before I moved in, so there was no issues on the cleanliness or state of the apartment. Sergio and Corinn were in touch with me throughout the move-in and I appreciated that immensely. They also kept in touch throughout the year to check in and keep us updated for the weather conditions and such. They truly put together a clean and welcoming apartment and it was clear to me they truly wanted to make those of us who rented from them welcome. I felt bad about leaving the apartment as I knew I would miss having such a good company to work with. If you want top quality service and professionalism, take a look at Hearthfire Holdings. You can't go wrong here.
