DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. THEY ALWAYS DO A HALF ASSED JOB…read more Our store front window was busted out and we called Dodson to come fix it. They arrived very quickly and were able to come back out that day to repair it. Perfect, right?! NOPE, because we ordered Lexan glass and it is like plexiglass, the window came with a great deal of shavings on it. We asked for double pane glass. It cost me $600 and the guy who put the two panes together didn't wipe out the glass and there is a TON of dog hair and scratches between the glass. You have ONE JOB! The guy didn't wipe the window down after installation and "had to get out of there to get to the next job" that he was late for. I wiped the glass down a little later and noticed all of the dog hair and scratches on the inside of the double pane. I immediately called (4:15p on November 4, 2019) and spoke with a woman who told me she would have to talk to someone to see how they wanted to handle this. Didn't hear from anyone for over a week. I called again. She said the same thing. Nothing. Another week goes by and I email. NO RESPONSE. I wait a few days and go to their location. I speak with a woman and she writes my information down and says she will have to call me after she speaks with someone to see how to handle it. That was two weeks ago. I still haven't heard from her. It is now Dec 8, 2019. Run! Do NOT waste your money with these people. They care nothing about the quality of work they do. They even used the broken wood frame that was in the window prior to the window being busted out. YOU HAVE ONE JOB. Ridiculous.

I am very sensitive to smoke and the chemicals in scented laundry exhaust, and was being exposed to multiple sources of those fumes coming into a cupola window at the top of a high cathedral roof on an Addition to my house. The window had been stuck open since I moved in over a year ago. I couldn't get any window company to come to assess or fix it, but a general contractor and electrician both tried (one from the outside and one from the inside). Neither of them could get the window to close because of a small non-functional motor (intended to open and close the window) that was preventing it from closing fully. Air, like water, will find a way to get into even a small entry point, so the smoke was coming in, dropping down into the main living area and sickening me. Jack responded to my call later the same day and, recognizing the urgency of addressing the situation ASAP, offered to come to my house within 30 minutes. He was scheduled out for two weeks, so not hungry for work, but squeezed in this health-related job near close of business. It took 3 attempts (one from inside and 2 from outside, on the steep roof) but within 45 minutes he had solved the problem by yanking the window open, removing the motor and sealing the window shut. Hallelujah! Jack has a great personality and was extraordinarily considerate of my special health needs, including the necessity that he wear a Tyvec suit and face mask when he was inside my home. I got no pushback about that at all--just an understanding, cooperative and frankly caring attitude. What a welcome change from some contractors I've dealt with while serving as the general contractor for work on my homes in the past 7 yrs. He's definitely a keeper! I cannot recommend this company more highly! Jack will be my first call to deal with any further issues with windows or doors at my house.

Ordered window and front door replacement Oct 4th. Once you sign contracts (1 for window 1 for…read moredoor) you are left pretty much in the dark. Guy came couple weeks later to measure--from date of measure it is supposed to be 4 to 6 weeks for fabrication and installation. My door is smaller than standard and needed to be fabricated to spec. The six week mark I had to call for status--found out window was ready but supplier of door hadn't even started making it. Was given Dec 18th date. Week of 18th again reached out to find that WW still didn't receive the door so can't schedule install and likely will now be January--and oh by the way, there are four customers ahead of me. If I had gone with Lowe's this would already be done. I have zero faith in Window World to do a good job with install since they lack adequate oversight and control over their vendors and schedule. Even though both items are separate contracts but "one job" even though the window is ready, WW has to wait for the door. If this company appeals to you, nail down dates and don't just accept their terms cause now I am at their mercy. I cannot cancel and have already prepaid half.

I found bits of metal and plastic and broken glass and trash all over my yard and a beer bottle behind my shrubs. Just awful. Maybe even lawsuit awful. The only competent person we worked with at WW was the sales guy. Next day: the more I look, the more awful it gets. Gaps in the exterior wrap, super messy caulking. This is a very sloppy installation. It looks like a bunch of drunks did it - perhaps young men who were drinking HEINEKEN all afternoon. Following week WINDOW WORLD SENT THE SAME GUYS BACK TO FIX IT!?!? They showed up unexpected!!!??? Oh hell no. I sent them away. - This was after we told them IN WRITING that the 9/2 crew was not welcome back. Go drink Heinekens at a bar, not my house. I mean really!!!

The "main number" I texted apparently is answer by Mike sometime and his office manager Stephanie other times. Problem is they dont communicate with each other very well, if at all. Based on convo, was talking to Mike for a couple of days. Needed, what i thought, was simple furniture assembly for an armoire purchased from Wayfair. He quoted me a rate of $125 per hour. Sent him the assembly video and confirmed it would require two people given the size of some of the pieces. Appointment day rolls around and only one worker is sent. Texted the main number and Stephanie replies. Rescheduled for another day and the worker comes back with his teenage son Now, according to the Wayfair website and reviews by other purchasers, one buyer and his 14 yo son managed to do the job in 4 hours. Wayfair estimates it takes a handy homeowner 6 hours to complete the job. took Mike's "professional" and his helper 8 hours to do the job. Was never told the rate went up to $175 for the 2nd person involved. so an $1100 purchase cost another $1400 to assemble using Mike 's guy and his teenager. Was never given an estimate of how long it would take based on the video provided. Was never told of the higher rate -- just "Furniture assembly is $125 per hour). Problem is, VA law requires a licensed contractor to provide a written estimate of the cost of the work undertaken and a timeframe for completion neither were provided, yet he is still insisting on full payment of $1400. No discount for wasting our afternoon when he failed to send 2 workers the first day, no discount for a teenage worker. No considerations for the fact no estimate was ever provided. If the VA board of contractors says I should pay $1400, Ill pay $1400. But not paying a penny till they weigh in on his practices.
