Small town Iowa doesn't mean small selection at this local grocery store…read more My father-in-law is from Remsen, with his 90 year old mother still residing blocks from the downtown. We stopped in for a family reunion and I forgot I was asked to bring an appetizer. So to the grocery store I went! Walking in, I wasn't quite sure what I was going to find. But I was very impressed with the selection and honestly the prices weren't that more expensive then smaller grocery stores in bigger cities. Anything more expensive is basically paying for the convenience of shopping last minute (as well as supporting a local family business) and I think that's totally worth it! Two things that really blew me away were; 1) The beer selection. Dozens of craft beers at reasonable prices. He even carded me when I got some adult beverages. (I turn 30 in 10 days, but who's counting?!) 2) The service. The owner greeted us as we walked in, offered to help us find anything a few minutes later and finally was more than willing to help load the car once we checked out. I know this grocery store is under new ownership-- I think he's really doing a fabulous job stocking the shelves with lots of options and is beyond professional and courteous to his customers. I'll definitely be stopping in next time I'm in Remsen!

Now if your ever in this little mid-western town you will have to stop in at the local grocery…read morestore. One of the few places anymore where you can get real fresh meat and you can watch while they wrap it up for you. They have many things that your big city stores don't such as friendly, cheerful and helpful people which work there. Thumbs up!!
