January 12, 2019 we held an 80th birthday for our mother at the Museum. We were given the…read moreupstairs area overlooking one of the main street sets. Really a beautiful setting. Our guests started arriving around 3:00 pm and had access to snacks and a full bar. While it is not obvious there is a service elevator available in case you have guests that struggle with stairs and we did. I have to start with compliments to the staff. Everyone we encountered was cheerful, helpful and working hard to make our evening a success. I spend a lot of time eating out and I was, quite frankly, stunned at how much effort these folks put in. This was a sit-down dinner, something our guests appreciated. We started with a wonderful light garden salad. Followed by roast beef, Yorkshire puddings, baby potatoes, and the only small complaint I would make; frozen peas and carrots, and a delicious gravy. Everything was hot, cooked well and delicious. I loved that they also supplied horseradish for the roast beef. We finished with Saskatoon berry pie with real whipped cream. My brother joked that we might need a "lot" more whipped cream and a few minutes later a huge bowl of the stuff appeared on our table. Very cool.

On second thought, I entirely can't stand this place and will avoid it unless there's a "must see"…read moremusical act coming through. Even then, I regret going. I had previously mentioned the acoustics being good, they are in fact quite terrible. Throughout all the shows I've been to here, the sounds I here are 50% the band on stage and 50% the audience chattering through the entire show. The venue would be much better if they could somehow make the sound from the audience not reflect back onto the crowd from every angle. To the people who pay $20-35 for concert tickets: please stop yelling, chattering, and regaling stories of your life throughout the entire set. Why the hell did you buy the tickets in the first place if you didn't come to listen to the show?

This is probably one of my favourite venues to go to for concerts as they get many bands that I…read morelike. The reason I have reviewed this 3/5 and not 5/5 is because of the customer service and their VIP services. Every single time I get tickets to a concert whether it be on a VIP experience website or on their ticket site I always have problems except if I order through Ticketmaster. The problems include getting these tickets, the staff being uneducated in the concert going on and many other problems through the years I have went here. The VIP experience here was absolutely horrible compared to how other venues handle their VIP ticket holders. I waited outside forever waiting to get in, in -28 weather and then after actually getting in and meeting the band we were thrown out of the venue. That had stopped me from buying VIP tickets again because I had heard other people's stories on how they were handled the exact same way. All in all the quality of musical acts they get are fantastic and the venue is in great shape. The staff is usually nice, and I do plan on going back once they get another good band.
