Summary: This is a church that appears to "get it"…read more Having just moved to the Nashville area, I've set out my "Church Home Bracket" where I'm trying two churches a Sunday to see where God might be calling me to put down roots and invest into the church community. This may end up being a #1 seed when I get to placing the top 32 choices. :) I don't like big churches. The fact this church appears to have taken over a former movie theater complex bothered me on two levels...the first being the size. (The other is the last time I was in a church that used a converted theater they were very unwelcoming to my autistic son...so despite my knowing they were not the same church where no special needs kids are allowed, I had that twinge when I saw the movie theater layout.) I walked into the lobby area and while it was big, it was laid out in a very easy to understand way for a new visitor. Children's area was clearly marked, the sanctuary right in front of you and even a bookstore and coffee bar to the left. Mentally, the church did get an early knock against it because the coffee bar is a cash bar...with a church of this size I was surprised they didn't provide at least free coffee and tea. (And if they did, there was nothing to indicate this.) I entered the sanctuary and took a seat about halfway back on the middle aisle and immediately the pastor broke away from his conversation with someone and introduced himself and spoke with me a few minutes. That scored major points...in these larger churches for the pastor to recognize a new face is rare. He was personable without coming off fake. The worship clearly had "Nashville production values." I had been worried about that because I've seen way too many churches that had a worship team more concerned about looking good and trying to be Hillsong wanna-bes or vehicles for the pastor's wife than actually leading people into worship. With a town that's performance driven like Nashville, the possibility of worship performances vs. leading people into worship seemed high. This worship team...despite the production values...led people into worship. I didn't get that sense of pretentiousness I see in many worship teams that are all about the "show." I could feel the Spirit moving within the congregation as they sang and played. The sermon? Fantastic. Biblically grounded and delivered in a very easy to follow manner. The pastor has skills for communications so he didn't "preach at" us as much as taught the congregation about the passage for the day. If it wasn't that I made a decision to check several churches before going back for a second round, I would have gone back next week. However, while not next week, I WILL be going back and this church is a top contender already. The whole church, from top to bottom, appears to understand what a Christian church should really be and not a country club with Chris Tomlin on a loop in the sound system. Bottom line: This church appears to "get it."

Great preaching, very friendly and welcoming church. Visited while out of town; would definitely…read moreattend again

I've been attending this church for two years now! It is an amazing place to learn about Jesus…read moreChrist, how to love one another, how to grow in your relationship with Him, and serve the community. It's not just another church, it truly is a family. Pastor Donell and Pastor Michele are great teachers in speech and in action. I could go on and on but it's better to experience it yourself.

The Word always challenges me to be better, grow stronger & deeper! The LOVE of God that is shared by ALL is sooo... sweet, beautiful & overwhelmingly amazing!!! You won't feel like a visitor long, because the members make you feel like family! It is a family friendly ministry! Ms. Lacie is the children's teacher, she's assisted by dear, sweet Miss. CC!! They are both such dolls! They love children, but most of all they love Jesus!! They delight in teaching the children the gospel of Jesus Christ! I especially look forward to receiving ministry from the children on 4th Sundays! That's when they share what they've learned via song, skit, scripture memorization etc. May God continue to richly bless & keep The Chapel @ Antioch's pastors & church family!! May you all continue to do great & mighty exploits in His name!! Thank you for the impact & the difference you're making in Antioch, Davidson Co. & abroad! God hasn't forgotten your labor of love!!!
