History

Established in 1937.

Originally opened as Swanson Funeral Home in1937. The Reichmuth Family joined the business in in 1961. The Reichmuth Family purchase the business in 1991. In 1994 the family built a a new facility in Elkhorn. In 2010 a large addition was built on to the Elkhorn Funeral Home. Jon and Mary Reichmuth continue to run this privately owned family business.

Meet the Business Owner: Jon R.

Jon is a second generation funeral director. He takes pride in offering innovative options and state of the art facilities to local families. Jon is very active in state and national funeral associations, serving as a past president of the Nebraska Funeral Directors and is currently serving as the Nebraska representative on the National Funeral Directors Association's Policy Board. He is also very active in his communities, serving as chairman of the Western Douglas County Chamber Christmas Food Basket Project for the last 17 years. This project provides a complete Christmas dinner for each recipiant.
