The shop sells clothes for both men and women with most of the pieces being a one off.... so if you like something well enough to pay the rather inflated price, the likely hood is that you will be the only person in Manchester wearing it! The shop is fairly small, but the wide range of stock is neatly placed on east access rails. The only downside is the staff sometimes seem to have been a little distracted when I popped in, I don't know if this is because I am not head-to-toe in designer gear, but I get the feeling it is!

There is an excellent variety of choice to suit most people, the prices are quite reasonable and the staff attentive although I have to agree with lou2497; sometimes too persistent! You can rely on River Island to be right up to the minute fashion wise and have amazing items. It is a fantastic place for teenagers and young people as well as having some sophisticated pieces for older people. A good selection of gimmicky gifts in store at the moment, just in time for Christmas. great!!

This limits it quite significantly. JJB sports didn't have any, just like all the major shoe shops. When we eventually tried Matalan, they not only had a choice, they were £7 a pair for reasonable quality. When I was asked about a card, I thought it may come in useful at some time, filled in the information, was given a temporary card and got £1 off the trainers immediately! Definite points for the store there! What I was impressed by was that, although the prices are ridiculously low, most of the products are good quality - at least as good as most normal shops. I couldn't give five stars, however, due to the long wait to get served. There was a snake of people all waiting patiently and two tills in operation, every time I have been in, no matter what time of day. I still recommend Matalan to everyone for whatever clothing they need.

This Warrington store has had a recent refurbishment, and now looks bigger than it did previously. The shop is really spacious, and there are no problems shopping with a pram. The shop has a great selection of everyday clothes. You can pick up tops for £2.50, and leather shoes for a tenner. They also have regular offers, and 3 for 2's on gifts, especially around Christmas time. Most of the staff are really friendly, and car parking is usually fine. Be aware, however that the store does get busy. Weekends can be a nightmare, and even with all the checkouts open, be prepared to queue!
Hasseen exclusive wear is just one of the many sari shops on and around Roundhay Road. It stands…read moreout for me because it has some exceptionally beautiful elaborately beaded garments which seem to be of a higher quality and level of detail than the pieces in many of the other sari shops. Some of them really are gorgeous, in vibrant gem colours with intricate patterns of gold and silver beads painstakingly sewn in. It would be worth a visit just to drool over them even if you don't intend to buy anything. The most elaborate garments are suitably more expensive than their less-detailed counterparts, with a very elaborate tunic top selling for £85.Though I'd be worried if it sold for any less considering the work that must have gone into it! If you want to experience the real beauty of traditional South Asian fashion then I would highly recommend Hasseen.
I love Next, but since the new one opened on the Greyhound park I tend to find that I spend more of…read moremy time on that one, unless I'm in town and don't want the hassle of travelling to the retail park. The only reason I prefer the other one, apart from the fact that it's bigger and offers more choice, is because it gets SO busy that at times you can barely move and the room between clothes rails to move around shop is really tiny. There's two floors to this one, women's clothes and children's clothes with shoes downstairs and men's clothes and home accessories up stairs. I wish there were more tills as it tends to be the queues that take up a lot of space when you're trying to pass, although the children's section at the back is a lovely area and a bit better spaced out and not as busy. When it comes to their clothes and quality however, you can't go far wrong and the staff are really helpful. It's a just a shame that the shop is so small ( but then lots are in certain areas of Chester city centre due to the old Roman shop sizes, so it's something you have to give up to keep the history in place. ) Therefore if you like more space I'd try the Next on the Greyhound retail park instead, but the staff and products themselves are great in this outlet in the Chester City centre also !!

I would not go out of my way to shop here although it reminded me that I should keep an open mind as it taught me not all clothing stores that cater for men contain boring and generic designs. However STorm is probably the more famous, more popular store of the bunch. I must say, I preferred the old store near Lewis's, while the stock was similar, the shop was larger and brighter, there was more stuff and more space to look; it was a little decrepit, but it wasn't in St John's which I tend to find dark and claustrophobic Now there is no alternative I shop here.
