RWL did an excellent job refurbishing my old wingback chair. I wish I had taken a before picture, but it used to be covered in old rough brown material and loads of dog hair (not even from our pet!). Hoboken and the surrounding areas are so lucky to have such a talented and creative woman in their midst! I had Denise Carballo of RWL scout, refurbish, design, and revamp several large furniture pieces for my new home and she did an amazing job. To begin the process, Denise used her thrifty eye to scout out on Craigslist 1) a large, pedestal, dining table for my dining room, 2) 3 sturdy, (and quite hideous) dining chairs, and 3) a small, hexagon shaped side table. She also knew I wanted to refurbish an old buffet table (I use it as a media-type stand) that was seriously outdated. I'm not gonna lie - those chairs were hideous and the table was scratched and in two pieces, which is how and why I was able, with Denise's guidance, to get those items so cheap. Denise then spent time talking with me about my style and the kind of look I wanted for my new home. That was so important to me and it made all the difference in the world. Denise stuck to a schedule, and finished up all the items in the estimated time and every single piece turned out way better than I expected (and I already had high expectations). Those ugly chairs I mentioned - they are a beautiful cream color, with teal, quality, fabric seats and a lovely trim. That outdated buffet is completely modernized, with a pop of cobalt blue and beautiful new hardware. She used a lime stain for the table that brought out the grain pattern, and it's stunning. I get compliments every single time someone comes over. I seriously cannot say enough wonderful things about Denise. Buying this furniture would have cost me a FORTUNE, but Denise is totally reasonable. She takes pride in her work and truly wants her clients to be happy. DENISE IS A TRUE ARTIST Denise Carballo refurbished a fancy director's chair with a ripped seat for me, with fabric I provided, and did a magnificent job. The fabric had a large pattern. I showed her how I wanted the seat to look, and she delivered it exactly, with expert craftsmanship, at a reasonable price. Then I gave her two antique black-wire chairs to paint white, and give new seats with some foam oomph and the same large-pattern fabric. I wanted the three chairs to match. We had a set of traditional, pine dining chairs that needed to be painted to make them more modern. I initially attempted to do it myself, applying the base coat of primer to one of them in my living room. I gave up after not even finishing that first step on the first of six chairs. I checked out Yelp for local furniture refinishers and found Denise was located right around the corner from me. I reached out on email - she responded within a hour which was amazing. She came over to our place the next day to check out the chairs in person and give me an estimate. Denise is beyond the best. Had a circa late 40's early 50's bedroom set that meant the world to me. Denise was so patient and worked with me until we got the right look. I used Refurbished with Love to refinish two old pieces of furniture I had. The first was an antique desk that need to be repainted and the second was a cheap jewelry chest I bought years ago that was looking ratty and I wanted to make it into a more "fun" jewelry chest. Denise was really great to work with. She listened to what I wanted, provided some alternative ideas and ultimately came back with two pieces of furniture that I love! What I also liked is she was also able to pick up and delivery the pieces so it was all a very smooth process. Finally, I found her prices were quite reasonable!
