Really enjoyed this family-owned homestyle restaurant. Friends who live in the neighborhood order…read morefrom here a lot and highly recommended it for traditional Spanish cuisine. I don't think the staff speaks much English, but the menu is in both Spanish & English, and on their website. You can either stay at the bar up front or dine-in, in the back. Solo diners seemed to be seated in the far back, but I was seated in the first table. I ordered the grilled asparagus, wild mushrooms sautéed in garlic & pancetta, & grilled fresh baby shrimp. Dishes are paced out very slow FYI. I got there at 8 PM and didn't leave until 10 PM. The shrimp took the longest for some reason. I was in search for some vegetables and this restaurant also seemed like the best option in the area. The asparagus came out first, with some grilled slices of tomato that I smashed onto bread. Mushrooms next and they were PERFECT. Tiny bit of oil for my American palette, but the bread helped. The small shrimp (fyi heads & shells are on it) finally came - with a handi-wipe. They were sprinkled with coarse salt and had a big wedge of lemon. Throughly enjoyed sucking the lemon + salt, then peeling & eating. Wasn't brave enough to eat the heads. Dessert seems to be required, but I was stuffed. Tables around me got flan, rice pudding, pineapple slice (no lactose), and a cake that looked like a lot with light sugar coating/frosting & custard in the middle. The Owner showed me the case of desserts, there was a clay pot of a cheese pudding dessert also. Friend recommends their Santiago Cake (an almond flour lemon cardamom cake)! It wasn't too crowded on a Thursday night, a mix of Spanish & non-Spanish tourists, and local couples. Interesting that 2 couples with blind partners came in separately. The Owner (Father, probably Son at the bar) kept sneaking pieces of bread to their seeing eye dog /golden retriever. Another table had some that came in with a foldable wheel chair. Glad to see the multi-generational customers! A few young ladies were at the bar when I left.

The Vermouth was good. The bread was extra. The Tripe stew was good with blood sausage. The pig's…read more ears were a little too soft but still tasty. The steak was like an arranchera meat.
