Commercial building in downtown Alameda. Parking lot is behind. You probably walked past this many times if you frequent Park St.
The review is for the historic building. Probably very dangerous in an earthquake - but at least this is on the half of Alameda that isn't landfill - the part built in the 70s I'd expect to get heavily damaged in a major earthquake.
The neighborhood is generally good and clean but I've seen some crazies yellling as of recent. This sort of thing you just don't get in better neighborhoods a few more miles away from the bay area.
Park Street is crowded and hard to navigate - come during off hours.
Enjoy the unique stores - not many chains - which I like.
Try Scolaries Good eats if you are in the area - I like their blueberry blue cheese bacon burger. read more
